The collar burned against my throat the second the moon cleared the trees. I gasped and grabbed Damien’s arm, my fingers digging into his sleeve. The bond flared hot between us, pulling me closer even as the silver inside me twisted like a live wire. “It’s happening now,” I said, voice tight. “The moon is here.” Damien’s hand covered mine, warm and steady. His gold eyes locked on me, the wolf right under the surface. “Then we go. Grove. Now.” His thumb brushed the edge of the collar, and the touch sent a spark straight down my spine. Not gentle.
