Esther rolled her neck from side to side and then slowly lowered her chin to her chest and leaned it back. Wow, it had been a long day. She’d checked her building after the storm, but because it was inland and along a major road, it had spared it from any damage. The worst thing was some extra trash, palm fronds, and leaves that had been blown in by the wind. Her cars were safe in their garages, and nothing had been damaged. She’d checked in with all of her employees that morning too, and they had all been safe. Since she’d already canceled rides for the morning, she told her people she’d pay them to go work for the relief efforts on the island.
