My mood was the brightest as I headed to school with Jillian the next day. She also had a sunny smile on her face as we walked through the school grounds, our hands tightly locked. As we turned a corner, my expression froze when I saw Henry standing a short distance away, his gaze rapt on us. I tightened my grip on Jillian's hand as we walked forward.
"Hey…" Henry said awkwardly as we approached, briefly darting his eyes to Jillian, then focusing on me again. "I wanted to speak to you for a bit. Is that okay?"
Jillian turned to me, her expression strangely jubilant. "I'll see you later, then." She murmured. I held firm when she tried disentangling her hand from mine.
"No, wait." Henry quickly said. "I want to speak to you as well."
She stared back at him and nodded. "Okay."
