A CHASE

It was now nightfall, the skies were cloudy and the evening silence was randomly disrupted by the crashes of thunder. They had gotten to the skull valley, but they chose to move through the valley and not on the hills to avoid any disturbances. The skull valley was known to be the hideout of many bandits. Now they seemed to be finally away from danger. The carriage slowly moved as four soldiers on horse backs followed. Two Infront and two behind the carriage. Dina quietly stared at Black Eagle as it was obvious that he was burning with rage. She could feel his fury burn like fire around them ..... Suddenly the carriage halted. Black Eagle got out of the carriage. "Why did we stop moving?? " He questioned the soldiers Infront. "Sir, there seems to be ......" And before the soldier could complete his sentence, he fell off the horse with an arrow behind his head . Black eagle's eye quickly followed where the arrow came from. Someone on the hills surrounding the valley was attacking them. The three remaining soldiers pulled out their swords. The soldier closer to black eagle asked, " Sir, is it the bandits? " No , it's the elves " , Black Eagle said. " Be alert, cover us and kill anyone who come in your way , got it !!!!!!! " , Black Eagle commanded . He quickly got into the carriage. They moved as fast as they could. Dina questioned , " Sir, please what is happening?" Black Eagle sighed and replied, " Nothing good" . Soon the carriage was being chased from behind. And yes, Black Eagle's guess was right it was the elves .The carriage shook , someone was on top of it. Black Eagle pulled out a dagger, handed it to Dina and said to the carriage rider ," Do not stop moving" Black Eagle climbed on top of the carriage. The moment he rose his head an arrow came his direction. He tilted his head away from the course of the arrow, but he was a bit to late and it scratched his cheek. The elf advanced at him, Black Eagle pulled out a dagger that was strapped to the left side of his calf . The elf swang his bow at Black Eagle. In retaliation, Black Eagle cut the bow and in a spilt second, he stabbed the arm of the elf. The elf fell to his knee in pain, Black Eagle held his head and snapped his neck. The lifeless body of the elf fell off the carriage. Black Eagle rose his head and saw a troop of knights on top of the hill. They will soon get into the valley, No I must stop them, these were the thoughts his mind fed him with at that moment. His war instinct switched on , he knew he had to create a divergence to allow the carriage to escape. He signalled his men to keep moving and not turn back . Black Eagle jumped off the moving carriage and one of his soliders stopped, leaving two soliders to protect the carriage. Black Eagle landed with one knee to the ground, he rose his head and saw the elves from afar. They had entered the valley. At this point , the soldier who stopped with Black Eagle knew there would be a blood bath, but it was obvious in the eyes of Black Eagle whose blood it would be .
