Zoey couldn’t help but wonder if Jake had bailed on her. She assumed that he thought she would be a burden to him so he decided to run away.
Most of all, it didn’t make any sense that the doctor said she could be discharged and that she would be an outpatient from now on because all her injuries except her broken leg had healed.
“Miss..” the nurse said to Zoey who was lost in thoughts.
“Yes?” Zoey answered him.
“do you have anyone to call to come and pick you up?” the nurse asked looking a bit concerned.
“is your friend not coming?, I’m sorry that you have to be discharged but the person who brought you in only paid the bills for a few days and your injuries have healed.” The nurse explained to Zoey and she nodded in understanding.
