CHAPTER Thirty Two
ALLEGRA Point Of View
I watched as Lucius shut the door behind him. I closed my eyes firmly and swallowed hard. He was pushing himself too hard and without purpose, which didn't sit well with me. He had fallen asleep on the sofa.
All that indicated was that he wasn't getting enough sleep. Did he ever fall asleep? A tap on the door caught my attention, and a servant emerged into the room. "Ma'am," the woman yelled.
"Breakfast is ready."I didn't need the details. I was still planning my meal for when Lucius wasn't even present, even before I'd taken my bath. "I told her to bring my breakfast here." She gave me a startled look and nodded.
She probably wanted to ask me why I wouldn't eat, but she lacked the courage, I'd bet my last dollar. I went to freshen up in the
