ALLEGRA Point Of View
As I stood there waiting for the batten to strike me, I felt a hand grabbing hold of me. Initially, I assumed it was the batten that struck me, which made my heart sink to my stomach.
The sound of the batten hitting the floor like thunder reached my ears. After a few minutes, I felt warmth around me and realized that I was still secure.
And I realized I was in someone's arms. I opened my eyes slowly, and to my surprise, Lucius was there, hugging me. I blinked again, startled.
I sighed deeply and then fell asleep. I quickly awoke in front of the hallway. Lucius still had me in his hands, and there were a few guards around me. Water was all over my face.
It had to be the work they had done to bring me back to life. Lucius and I exchanged
