May's phone buzzed on her nightstand, pulling her out of a deep sleep. She reached over to silence it, but her eyes widened as she saw Jamie's name on the screen. She sat up in bed, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. The text read: "Hey, beautiful. Just wanted to say good morning." May's heart skipped a beat as she smiled, feeling a rush of excitement. She quickly typed out a response: "Good morning, handsome." As she hit send, May couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. What did the day hold for her and Jamie? May and Jamie's text conversation flowed easily, with a flirtatious tone that left May blushing. Jamie sent a string of emojis, each one more charming than the last. May laughed and responded with some playful teasing of her own. As they bantered back and forth, May felt her heart skipping beats. She couldn't believe how natural it felt to talk to Jamie, how easy it was to be herself around him. Just as May was getting ready for school, Jamie sent one final text: "Can't wait to see you today, May." May's face lit up with a smile as she grabbed her backpack and headed out the door, feeling like she was walking on air. May walked into school, still feeling the excitement of her text conversation with Jamie. As she made her way to her locker, she noticed a small piece of paper taped to the door. She ripped off the tape and unfolded the paper, revealing a sweet note from Jamie: "Good luck on your math test today! You're going to crush it." May's heart melted at the thoughtful gesture. She had a big test that morning, and Jamie's encouragement meant the world to her. As she stuffed the note into her backpack, May couldn't help but wonder what other sweet surprises Jamie had in store for her. May walked into her math class, feeling a sense of confidence thanks to Jamie's encouraging note. As she took her seat, she scanned the room, searching for a familiar face. Her eyes landed on Jamie, who was sitting a few rows ahead. He caught her gaze and flashed a charming smile, his eyes crinkling at the corners. May's heart skipped a beat as she smiled back, feeling a rush of excitement. She couldn't believe how much she enjoyed Jamie's company, how much he made her feel like she was the only person in the room. As the teacher began the test, May took a deep breath, focusing on the questions in front of her. But she couldn't shake the feeling that Jamie was watching her, his eyes on her like a gentle caress. As May worked on her test, she couldn't resist sneaking a quick glance at Jamie. She peeked over her shoulder, her eyes meeting his for a brief moment. Jamie's face lit up with a warm smile, and he mouthed "good luck" before turning back to his own test. May's heart fluttered at the small gesture, feeling a sense of connection with Jamie even in a crowded classroom. She took a deep breath, focusing on her test once again. But her mind kept wandering back to Jamie, wondering what he was thinking, whether he was feeling the same spark that she was. Jamie's eyes crinkled at the corners as he smiled. "We should celebrate your awesome test score. Want to grab lunch together?" May's heart skipped a beat. She loved spending time with Jamie, and a celebratory lunch sounded perfect. "Definitely," she said, smiling up at him. "Where did you have in mind?" Jamie thought for a moment. "How about we try that new sandwich shop downtown? I've been hearing great things about it." May nodded enthusiastically. "Sounds amazing. Let's go!" As they walked into the sandwich shop, May was immediately struck by its cozy atmosphere. The walls were adorned with vintage posters, and the air was filled with the delicious smell of freshly baked bread. Jamie led her to a quiet table by the window, and they spent the next few minutes perusing the menu. May was impressed by the variety of options, and she had a hard time deciding between the turkey and avocado wrap and the grilled cheese sandwich. Jamie, on the other hand, knew exactly what he wanted. "I'm going to get the Italian sub," he said, his eyes scanning the menu. "It's my favorite." May smiled, feeling a sense of comfort in their easy conversation. "I think I'll get the wrap," she said, closing her menu. "And can we share a side of sweet potato fries?" Jamie grinned, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Absolutely. I love sweet potato fries." They sat in silence for a while, eating up and catching glances. "Haven't seen Maya around" said jamie. "oh!, Maya's mom is a little sick and she needs Maya by that side." I could feel the pity in jamie's eyes. "well, don't worry I'll send your regards." "Aight, sure" he nods. We spent the remaining minutes of the break strolling around the basket ball hall and chit chatting. With the school day finally over, May felt a sense of relief wash over her. She had aced her math test, thanks to Jamie's encouragement. As she walked out of the school building with Jamie, May couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement for the adventures that lay ahead. They had plans to hang out at the beach, go on a hike, and maybe even try out a new restaurant or two. Jamie turned to her, a mischievous glint in his eye. "Want to grab some ice cream and celebrate the end of school?" he asked, his voice full of enthusiasm. May's heart skipped a beat at the suggestion. She loved ice cream, and spending time with Jamie was always a treat. "Definitely," she said, smiling up at him. They walked to the ice cream shop, enjoying the warm sunshine and the sweet scent of blooming flowers. As they pushed open the door, May was greeted by the colorful decorations and the enticing aroma of freshly made waffle cones. Jamie led her to the counter, where they perused the menu, trying to decide between the many delicious flavors. May's eyes landed on a unique flavor, and she couldn't resist. "I'll try the strawberry cheesecake ice cream," she said, her eyes sparkling with excitement. Jamie's eyes lit up. "I'm getting the mint chocolate chip," he said, grinning. "It's my favorite." As they waited for their ice cream, May couldn't help but feel a sense of joy. She loved trying new things, and sharing the experience with Jamie made it even more special. When their ice cream arrived, they took their cones and walked outside, enjoying the warm breeze and the sweet treats. May took a lick of her ice cream, and her eyes widened in delight. "This is amazing!" she exclaimed. Jamie smiled, happy to see May enjoying her ice cream. "I told you the strawberry cheesecake was a great choice," he said, taking a lick of his own mint chocolate chip ice cream. May playfully rolled her eyes. "You're just trying to take credit for my excellent taste," she teased, grinning at him. Jamie chuckled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Maybe a little," he admitted, smiling back at her. As they walked, licking their ice cream cones, May felt a sense of contentment wash over her. She loved these small moments with Jamie, just enjoying each other's company and savoring the simple pleasures in life. They continued their stroll, enjoying the warm sunshine and the sweet treats, their conversation flowing easily as they laughed and joked together. The sky was ablaze with hues of pink, orange, and purple, reflecting off the calm waters of the lake. May felt as though she was witnessing a masterpiece unfold before her eyes. Jamie turned to her, his eyes shining with a soft light. "I'm so glad we're sharing this moment together," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. May's heart skipped a beat as she met his gaze. She felt a deep connection to him, as though they were the only two people in the world. Without thinking, Jamie reached out and gently brushed a strand of hair behind May's ear. The touch sent shivers down her spine, and she felt her heart flutter in her chest. As the sun dipped below the horizon, May knew that this was a moment she would treasure forever – a moment of perfect beauty, perfect connection, and perfect feeling.
