HALLWAY HUSTLE

Maya and May walked down the crowded hallway, weaving past students rushing to their next class. Maya was typing away on her phone, her thumbs flying across the screen. "I'm almost at 1,000 followers on i********:!" she exclaimed. May rolled her eyes good-naturedly. "You're such a social media addict." Maya grinned. "Hey, someone's got to keep our school's social media scene alive!" As they approached their lockers, Maya's friends, Emily and Sarah, caught up with them. "Hey, guys! What's up?" Emily asked, eyeing Maya's phone. "Are you live-tweeting again?" Maya nodded. "Yeah, I'm documenting my day for my followers." Sarah chuckled. "You're so extra, Maya." May smiled, shaking her head. "That's our Maya." The group chatted for a few minutes, catching up on each other's weekends, before the bell rang, signaling the start of their next class. "See you guys later!" Maya called out, as they all scattered to their respective classrooms. Maya and May settled into their seats in history class, trying to stifle their giggles as they exchanged a silly face. Their teacher, Mrs. Johnson, began to drone on about the American Revolution, but Maya's attention was elsewhere. She was busy typing away on her phone, trying to sneak in a few tweets without getting caught. May nudged her. "Maya, put that away before Mrs. Johnson sees you." Maya grinned mischievously. "Just one more tweet." May rolled her eyes. "You're going to get in trouble." But Maya just winked. "I'm a pro at this." Just then, Mrs. Johnson stormed over to their desk. "Maya, is that your phone I see?" Maya's eyes widened innocently. "No, Mrs. Johnson, I was just... um... taking notes." Mrs. Johnson raised an eyebrow. "With your phone?" Maya sighed, reluctantly putting her phone away. "Sorry, Mrs. Johnson." As the class continued, Maya and May exchanged silly faces and whispered jokes, trying to stifle their giggles. Maya and May sat down at their usual table in the cafeteria, surrounded by their friends Emily and Sarah. Maya immediately began dishing out the latest gossip. "So, did you guys hear about Jake and Rachel's breakup?" Emily's eyes widened. "No, what happened?" Maya leaned in, a conspiratorial look on her face. "Apparently, Jake cheated on Rachel with some girl from another school." Sarah gasped. "That's so juicy!" May shook her head. "I don't know how you keep up with all this drama, Maya." Maya grinned. "It's all about staying connected, May." As they chatted and laughed, Maya's phone buzzed with notifications. She glanced down, her eyes lighting up. "Guys, I just got a ton of new followers on i********:!" Maya and May walked out of school, blinking in the bright sunlight. Maya stretched her arms over her head. "I'm so glad that's over. Now it's time for some fun." May raised an eyebrow. "What did you have in mind?" Maya grinned mischievously. "I was thinking we could sneak into the park and take some i********:-worthy photos." May laughed. "You're such a rebel, Maya." Maya winked. "Hey, someone's got to keep things interesting around here." As they walked towards the park, Maya's phone buzzed with notifications. She glanced down, her eyes lighting up. "May, I just got a message from a popular influencer! She wants to collaborate with me on a post." May's eyes widened. "That's amazing, Maya! Congratulations." Maya beamed with pride. "Thanks, May. This is going to be huge for my social media career." Maya and May walked through the park, enjoying the warm sunshine and fresh air. Maya was busy snapping photos and typing away on her phone, while May simply enjoyed the scenery. As they strolled along, Maya suddenly stopped and turned to May. "I'm so glad we're friends, May. You're always so supportive of me." May smiled. "Of course, Maya. That's what friends are for." Maya grinned. "I know, right? Now, let's take a selfie to commemorate this moment." May laughed. "You and your selfies." Maya winked. "Hey, someone's got to document our adventures." Maya and May walked into Maya's house, dropping their backpacks onto the floor. Maya's mom called out from the kitchen. "Girls, I'm making dinner. Who's hungry?" Maya and May exchanged a look, then chimed in unison. "We are!" Maya's mom laughed. "Great, I'll set an extra plate. We're having pizza night." Maya grinned. "Yes, my favorite." As they sat down to eat, Maya's phone buzzed with notifications. She glanced down, her eyes lighting up. "Guys, I just got a ton of new likes on my i********: post." May smiled. "Congratulations, Maya. You're a social media star."
