The sun was setting already as Kei and his family drove to the Peridot’s compound where the Cynthia meeting would take place. The rest of the Pack followed closely behind in their respective fancy vehicles.
In previous years, the Pack had arrived at the meeting in style in large limousines, but this year, Kei had suggested for things to be different. That odd tradition of being extravagant simply to show off in front of the other Packs was something that was bound to cause jealousy and unnecessary feelings of animosity. While these were things Kei hadn’t bothered to think about before, now that he had been appointed next Leader, he wanted to be sensible and keep a low profile.
