ISABELLA — "Wow, daddy your house looks so magnificent and grand. How can you live in this house alone?" Sofia questioned forcing herself down from Enzo house as she continues to admire the place. Enzo turns to stare at me with an awkward smile, "Was it too much?" He asked avoiding my eyes actually he had been avoiding my stares all day. "It's your house, and your money nothing is too much for you but I am sure even Miguel house isn't this grand with so much servants and maids." I said to him admiring the chandelier and I notice from the minute we stepped in the maids had their face to the ground in respect, won't their neck ache them? I thought to myself. "Daddy is that you?" Sofia yelled from the sitting room pointing at a painting on the wall which I stared at awkwardly. He looked just like they described him to be, fearless and ruthless at thee same time. "Yes, that's me." Enzo said with a firm stare on the painting. "That's me." We whispered to himself again. "You looked just like they always describe you to be." I joked but he wasn't smiling just a silent chuckle. "I am sorry for Sofia's awkward question, you just looked really different in the painting." I said to him maybe that would soften him a little. "You don't have to be sorry, it's just seeing that picture remind me of the other part of me I hate remembering." Enzo said. "Wooow, daddy you have so many rooms!!" Sofia exclaimed standing at the corridor of multiple rooms. "Yes baby, do you want one fir yourself?" Enzo asked slowly walking up to her, picking her up from the floor to his arms making her giggle. "If you have so much wealth and a mansion like this why did you make mommy and I stay in that little apartment?" Sofia asked making me almost choke from my own saliva. "Sofia." I warned but it was pointless since she wasn't even sparing me a gaze. "Do you want to move in with daddy?" Enzo asked. "Yes!!" She replied with excitement, why did it seem like Sofia was making Enzo do things intentionally. "Enzo, do not agree to her request or else she won't stop making them." I whispered to Enzo who chuckled. "There is nothing wrong if she moves in with me and you know you can't make her move in alone, you have to be with her. That means you two would have to move into the mansion." Enzo said like he was already making assumptions on how the future would be. "I want to spend the night with you daddy!" Sofia requested making me scoff in frustration. It seemed like I wasn't even needed in their discussion and she wasn't in need of my approval in any of the thing she wanted to request from her daddy. "Yes Angel." Enzo said placing a kiss on her forehead, Sofia smiles at Enzo widely before hugging his neck tightly. "I love you daddy." She said finally staring at me with the same smile still on her face. " I love you too mommy." She said making me smile, she was just saying that to avoid me scolding her. After staying with Enzo a little while and taking a long stroll around the mansion, Sofia finally agree to follow me back to our apartment so we can pack up our things and move in with Enzo. I had to give in to her request only because Enzo was ready to take in all the responsibility just for Sofia's happiness. ENZO —- I couldn't wait for Isabella to finally move into the mansion,it had always been very lonely for me and after leaving the states and returning I never returned to the mansion but the second Sofia requested to see my house I knew I won't be spending a day alone and lifeless In this mansion and just like she could read through my thoughts she requested to move in, it seemed like we were connected both physically and mentally and I was loving the connection we shared. "Make sure the bedroom is a perfect replica of a princess bedroom and make Isabella's room perfect." I ordered to the maid as I monitored their movement, everything has to be perfect for their arrival. This was the first time someone would be moving into my house and I would want them to be comfortable with everything. "Boss." Alex called from behind making me tense up, one of the main reason why I never came back home was because my gangs would finally know I am back and would think I am ready for a job just when I was trying to hide everything and live a normal life for a few weeks. "Alexander." I called turning around with my fierce and ruthless look on my face as I took a seat just beside my painting just like I always do when I am about to attend to my main job. "You had been off the radar for few weeks so I couldn't approach you but now you are back and I need to update you on some important business." Alex said sitting on one of the couches. "And what business could that be?" I asked, hoping Isabella and Sofia won't be back anytime soon. "Rodrigo is smuggling into La Nostra Terra." Alex said making me standing up. "What the f**k!!!, And you are just informing me about this s**t!" I yelled trying my best to control myself. "I tried to tell you but you seemed occupied." Alex said trembling clearly aware of what I can do. "How did he get such opportunity to smuggle into my territory!" I yelled slamming things on the wall, Rodrigo can't just try to play smart because I was distracted for a few weeks. "I am sorry boss but we couldn't find any lead." Alex said trembling. I clenched my fists, trying to control the rage building up inside me. Rodrigo had always been a thorn in my side, constantly trying to undermine me and gain control of my territory. If he thought he could get away with smuggling into La Nostra Terra, he had another thing coming. "Find me a lead, Alex," I growled through gritted teeth. "I want to know how Rodrigo managed to pull this off." Alex nodded, his eyes still filled with fear. "I'll do my best, boss. We'll track down one of Rodrigo's men, someone who might have information." I paced back and forth in my office, my mind racing with thoughts of revenge. I couldn't let Rodrigo get away with this. Not only would it be a blow to my reputation, but it would also put the safety of my family at risk. I had to put an end to it, once and for all. After what felt like an eternity, Alex returned with a man that had been captured. He was bruised and bloody, clearly roughed up during the interrogation. But I had no time to worry about that now. I needed answers. "Tell me everything you know about Rodrigo's smuggling operation," I demanded, slamming my fist against the table. The man trembled, his voice shaky as he began to talk. He revealed details about a secret warehouse where Rodrigo stored his illegal goods before distributing them. He also mentioned a corrupt customs officer who was on Rodrigo's payroll, allowing him to bypass security checks. I listened intently, taking mental notes of everything he said. This was valuable information that I could use to finally bring Rodrigo down. "Thank you," I said coldly, dismissing the man. "Alex, gather the troops. We're paying a visit to that warehouse." As we made our way to the warehouse, my mind was focused on one thing - revenge. I would make sure Rodrigo regretted ever crossing me. I would destroy his smuggling operation and show him that La Nostra Terra belonged to me. " You guys are all stupid!!" I yelled to all my men who shivered at my voice. "You made Rodrigo gain ground in my territory, you couldn't handle business for a few days till I was ready to take control." I said to them as they all fell to their knees immediately. "We are so sorry boss." They pleaded and just then my phone beeped, I took out my phone and it was a message from Isabella asking of my whereabout. She must have arrived at the mansion already. "You all are very lucky that I have to go or else none of you would be able to escape my wrath, you know the kind of person I am." I said softly with a smile on my face remembering that I was heading home to Isabella. "Boss, what should we do about Rodrigo?" Alex questioned also noticing my change of mood. "Find that motherfucker hiding place and make it quick." I said to them walking away back to my car as we drove off. Isabella and Sofia were already waiting for me in the sitting room while Sofia won't stop giggling when I entered. "Daddy, you made my room look like a princess bedroom." She said smiling. "Of course I had to make it good, you are princess and a princess need to stay in a princess bedroom." I said to her looking at Isabella. "You didn't have to welcome us that grandly." Isabella said. "Don't say that, you two are all worth my efforts." I said to them with a smile, I wished Isabella could at least understand how much Sofia meant to me. ISABELLA — After settling into the mansion, I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by the opulence surrounding me. Enzo had truly gone all out to make sure our rooms were perfect, especially Sofia's princess-themed bedroom. It was clear that he wanted to make Sofia feel special and loved, and I couldn't help but appreciate his efforts. As the evening wore on, Sofia grew tired and I put her to bed. She was beyond excited to spend the night with her dad, and I couldn't deny her that. After all, it seemed like Enzo was making an effort to be a part of her life, and I didn't want to stand in the way of that. As Sofia slept peacefully, I found myself lingering outside her bedroom door, wondering what to do next. Part of me wanted to go back to my old life and forget about Enzo and all the complications that came with him. But another part of me, a part that had been dormant for far too long, wanted to give him a chance. To give us a chance at being a family. Lost in my thoughts, I began to hear voices coming from down the hall. It sounded like Enzo was arguing with someone, but I couldn't make out the words. Curiosity got the better of me, and I tiptoed towards the source of the voices, trying to get a better look without being noticed. Peeking around the corner, I saw Enzo standing in the study, his back turned to me. He was speaking in hushed, angry tones to someone on the other end of the line. I strained my ears, trying to catch a few words. "...he thinks he can get away with this. He's in for a rude awakening... I'll tear him apart... make sure our men are ready..." My heart raced as I tried to piece together what Enzo was saying. It was clear that he was involved in something dangerous, something that could potentially put our lives at risk. But what worried me more was the darkness in his eyes, the anger that seemed to consume him. I had seen this side of Enzo before, but it had always frightened me. As the argument continued, I realized that it was futile for me to listen any longer. I needed to confront Enzo, find out what he was really involved in.
