EIGHT -ENZO

2001 Words
ENZO — I watched as Isabella took Sofia away with her, I don't know what had suddenly gotten into me I can't even let go of Sofia for a second, like she is already a part of me and it hasn't even been up to a day. "Boss, Miguel is ready to see you". One of my guard said clearly surprised to see me in the building kitchen. "Tell him to come and meet me here." I instructed still trying my best to get the image of Sofia out of my mind. "Sir, here in the kitchen?" "Do I need to repeat myself?" I asked making the guard rush out. I need to see Sofia again atleast that would be the only way I would be in my right state of mind. Few minutes after continuously thinking about the little angel that just walked into my life. When Miguel walked also a bit stunned to see my waiting in this area of the building. "ENZO?" He called joining me beside the counter. "Miguel." I replied, that was our unique way of greeting each other. "Why do you want to meet me here, you could have to my office or better still pick a location that is convenient for you."Miguel asked making me chuckle. " And who said I wasn't comfortable here, actually I enjoyed the little time I had here." I said to him making him nod in realization. "To make everything easier for both of us I have come to a conclusion." I said standing more upright. "What is your conclusion, does it have to do with Leonardo Dante?" Miguel asked making me realize ever since I met Sofia I lost focus on my main reason for returning here. "Not about Leonardo Dante, it's about a policy you set and I would like you to change it." I said making him stare at me even more confused. "I need you to change the policy about no children allowed mostly employees kid". I requested. "But Enzo, allowing children into the company goes against our policy. It's not a child-friendly environment and it could pose safety risks," Miguel argued, trying to reason with me. I sighed, understanding his concerns but also unwilling to back down. "I know it's not the usual practice, Miguel, but I need to see Sofia again. She is important to me and I want her to be a part of my life. I promise to take full responsibility for her and ensure her safety." Miguel hesitated for a moment, clearly torn between upholding company policies and granting my request. "Enzo, I understand your desire to see Sofia, but we have to consider the well-being of all our employees. If something were to happen to a child here, it could have serious repercussions." I stared directly into Miguel's eyes, making sure he understood my determination. "I respect your concerns, Miguel, but let's not forget that I own the majority share of this company. If I want something, I usually get it. And right now, what I want is to see Sofia. So, I urge you to make an exception in this case." Miguel sighed, clearly realizing that he had no choice but to agree to my request. "Fine, Enzo. You win. I'll make an exception and allow Sofia to visit the office occasionally. But remember, her safety is your responsibility, and you must ensure that she doesn't disrupt the workflow or cause any harm." I nodded, grateful that Miguel had eventually seen things from my perspective. "Thank you, Miguel. I assure you, Sofia's visits will not impact the company negatively. I will make sure she is well-behaved and closely supervised." Miguel offered me a smile, albeit a slightly reluctant one. "Alright then, Enzo. I hope you truly understand the implications of this decision. Sofia's visits should be a rare occurrence, and you must ensure that she doesn't become a distraction or create any issues within the company." I nodded once again, appreciating his concern. "I understand, Miguel. Sofia's visits will be handled with utmost care. You can trust me on that." With that settled, we both went our separate ways, knowing that a new chapter was about to begin in my life. I couldn't wait to see Sofia again and start building a relationship with her. ISABELLA — Seeing Enzo's reaction when he saw Sofia for the first time made my heart swell with happiness. I never expected him to be so smitten with my daughter, but I couldn't deny the fact that Sofia deserved to have a father figure in her life I had decided to accompany Sofia on her visit to Enzo's office. It was a big step, and I wanted to be there to support my daughter and ensure her safety. As we entered the office building together, I couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions – excitement, nervousness, and hope. Enzo had informed Miguel about his desire to have Sofia visit the office occasionally, and although Miguel was hesitant at first, he had eventually agreed. It was a relief to know that Sofia's visits were authorized, but I still had my reservations. As we walked into Enzo's office, I noticed him sitting behind his desk, looking both focused and distracted at the same time. He glanced up and our eyes met, a mix of emotions flickering in his gaze. I could tell he was trying to maintain composure, but there was an undeniable tenderness in his eyes when he looked at Sofia. "Hey, Enzo," I greeted, trying to break the slight tension in the room. "Isabella," he replied, his voice slightly hoarse. "Thank you for bringing Sofia here." I smiled warmly, realizing that Enzo was slowly acknowledging my presence and appreciating my efforts as a mother. "Of course, Enzo. Sofia deserves to be happy." Enzo nodded, his gaze shifting back to Sofia, who was holding onto my hand tightly. "Hi, princess," he said softly, beckoning Sofia to come closer. "Daddy!!" She yelled jumping on his Body, hugging his neck tightly, I was a bit frightened with the way she was stepping on his suit won't her shoes but Enzo dud not seem to care. "Thank you so much for allowing this." I said making him smile. "You don't have to thank me I just want to be around Sofia as much as possible."he said not even sparing me a glance, I wonder why he so wrapped around her…I just pity and pray the day Sofia realize that Enzo is only doing her a favor and Is not connected to her in anyway there won't be much damage to her mind. " Should I leave her here with you, I have to resume." I whispered making him glance at me. "You are free to go, Sofia was my main priority." He said placing Sofia on his desk pushing away most of the files on the desk just so Sofia could sit well. "Daddy when would we go out for a little outing just the two of us?" Sofia questioned Enzo just when I was about to walk out. "Mr Enzo is busy you can't just ruin his schedule." I said to Sofia who shrugged looking at Enzo with he puppy eyes. "Stop calling my daddy Mr Enzo." She whispered clearly unaware that I heard her. "You don't have to worry Isabella, I am always free for Sofia." He said placing a kiss on Sofia's forehead. How can a man like Enzo exist. "Are you sure?" I asked still not taking my eyes off Sofia who won't even spare me a gaze. "I am more than sure." He said bring out his phone, slowly scrolling through it. "Bye angel." I said to Sofia who stands on Enzo desk with her hands widely opened clearly indicating I should come and get a hug which I hurriedly did. "I love you." I said to her hugging her tightly. "I love you too mommy, don't worry much about me I would be with daddy all day." She said slowly letting go of me and returning to her initial spot. I walked out slowly and just then a guard rushed into Enzo's office. I became curious and rushed back to the door placing my ear gently to listen to his conversation and why the guard was in a hurry earlier. "Get the car ready, Sofia wants to have a little Daddy and daughter day." I could hear Enzo instructing and Sofia squirming with joy and I smiled at the fact that he was ready to get out of his comfort zone just to make Sofia Happy… with relaxation and happiness I left his office premesies. ENZO — As I drove with Sofia in the backseat of my car, I couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment. Seeing her smile and hearing her laughter filled me with a joy I hadn't experienced in a long time. It was as if Sofia had breathed new life into me, reminding me of the simple pleasures of childhood. We arrived at the amusement park, and Sofia's eyes sparkled with excitement. She couldn't contain her glee as we walked through the entrance, her hand firmly clasped in mine. "Daddy, can we go on the Ferris wheel first?" she asked, her voice ringing with anticipation. "Of course, princess," I replied, smiling down at her. I couldn't deny her anything today. We waited in line for the Ferris wheel, and Sofia's excitement grew with each passing moment. When it was our turn, she jumped into the seat with a bounce, barely able to contain her enthusiasm. As the Ferris wheel ascended, Sofia's laughter filled the air, and I couldn't help but join in. As we rode the various attractions in the park, Sofia's energy was contagious. We laughed, screamed, and held hands tightly as we experienced the thrill of each ride together. It was a moment of pure happiness, and I relished every second of it. During a break, we sat on a bench, catching our breath and enjoying the view. Sofia snuggled closer to me, her head resting on my shoulder. In that moment, I felt an overwhelming sense of love for her, a love I never knew was possible. "Daddy, I'm so happy," Sofia whispered, her voice filled with awe. "I am too, princess," I replied, gently kissing her forehead. "Being with you makes me the happiest I've ever been." Sofia beamed up at me, her eyes shining with affection. "I love you, Daddy." "I love you too, my little angel," I said, my heart swelling with warmth. As the day came to an end, and we made our way back to the car, I realized something. Sofia had not only brought joy into my life, but she had also brought a sense of purpose. I wanted to protect her, provide for her, and love her unconditionally. She had become my world, and I would do anything to ensure her happiness and safety. "I would definitely come back tomorrow to see you, and we would have more fun time together." Sofia said to me as the guards stood beside her ready to take her back to her mother's office, as I bid Sofia goodbye, I couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness. I treasured the time we had spent together, and I longed for more. But I knew that I had to respect the boundaries set by Miguel and ensure that Sofia's visits remained occasional. As Sofia walked away, waving goodbye, I made a silent vow to myself. I would give her the love and care she deserved, even if it meant breaking down the walls I had built around my heart. Sofia had shown me the beauty of fatherhood, and I was ready to embrace it fully. With a renewed sense of purpose, I walked back into the office, knowing that Sofia had changed my life in ways I never thought possible. And I was grateful for every moment spent as her daddy.
