CHAPTER TWENTY FOUR

1526 Words

ASHER’S POV “Her clothes aren’t here too, she’s packed everything” Ember says, as new trinkets of tears stream down her eyes. “Does she know anyone else in Raven’s Peak?” I ask. “Not that I know of,” Ember says, fighting back tears. “Oh God! She must have left because of the misunderstanding we had yesterday!” She added, as she tries calling Ava for the 100th time. As I pondered the situation standing in her Condo, my mind wandered into a maze of questions. What could drive someone to abandon a lifelong friendship over a seemingly trivial disagreement? Has Ava harbored resentment towards Ember all along, or was this a recent development? Was it fueled by envy, jealousy, or some other underlying factor? And was this a uniquely feminine dynamic, or a human trait that transcended gender?
