Marcus Vale arrived at Cole Enterprises twenty-five minutes later.
Natalie met him in the executive lobby. "You made good time."
Marcus smiled as he adjusted his suit jacket. "I may have ignored two speed limits."
She laughed. "I probably shouldn't have heard that."
"No.” He agreed. "You definitely shouldn't have."
For a brief moment, the tension between them eased.
Marcus noticed the relief in Natalie's smile and was quietly grateful to see it. The last few days had been overwhelming for her, and if he could give her even a moment's peace, it was worth it.
"Damien's waiting.” Natalie said.
He nodded. "Lead the way."
When they entered Damien's office, Logan was already there. Damien stood from behind his desk. "Marcus."
The two men shook hands. "Thank you for coming."
