9. Royal Drama - ||

Elora's POV___

After fixing my makeup and hair I and Reg head towards the ballroom together.

Prince Caspian stopped me and asked Reg and Alpha James to wait outside.

I was looking everywhere but him.

I am still processing that I have a mate now and he is Dragon prince. it is too much to process.

he will become king in few years and since I am his mate I will be queen.

oh my

Am I ready for that? to become a queen. how am I going to handle all the responsibility that comes with that role?

I was too engrossed in my thoughts I didn't notice Prince Caspian has come close to me.

he places his hand on my chin tilted upwards to meet his eyes.

he is too close that I can feel his breath on my face.

I am feeling dazed by his closeness, lost in his gray orbs.

"Prince Caspian, w...we have to..."

I trailed off when I forgot what I was saying

"Caspian"

I looked at him confused

"huh?"

"it is Caspian for you"

I nodded at him

"Okay, Pri...Caspian"

he smiled at that

"Don't worry princess no one can take you away from me,"

he assures me and I nodded in agreement.

he kisses me on the forehead before walking me outside where Reg and Alpha James are waiting.

"Don't leave her side, I don't trust king Lucian"

Caspian told to Reg.

"Don't worry Prince Caspian, I won't leave El alone."

Caspian nodded at him satisfied with his answer.

Reg and I both make our way to the huge double doors leading into the ballroom.

Reg squiz my hand in the assurance that everything will be okay.

with that, we head in and sit at the same table.

I can feel someone's gaze on me.

I search the entire hallway to find who it is when my eyes met with dark brown orbs, King Lucian is standing by the bar with a smirk on his lips.

a shiver runs down my body as I quickly avert my gaze.

Reg noticed my uncomfortable state so he followed my gaze to where King Lucian is.

"Don't worry El, you are not going with King Lucian anywhere. I am glad that you found your mate. now I think about it you were destined for each other."

I raised my eyebrows at him in question

he sigh

"well, you see I had a plan B ready when you told me about Liam"

I nodded at him

" I decided that I will talk to Queen Scarlet and ask her to take you with them in Dragon kingdom. when I requested her earlier she agreed to me instantly."

I gasp at that

"Grandmother told me a few days ago that your mother and Queen scarlet was a close friend. "

"Why didn't you tell me before?"

he shakes his head and continues

"because I wanted to confirm it myself first, we are talking about Dragon Queen here. you know no one is that close to them. so when I mentioned your mother in front of Queen she confirmed that they were close friends and she will help to get you out of here."

I smile at that.

"there you are, I was looking for you two for some time now."

Angeline approaches us with her fake smile.

Reg looked at me and I nodded at her that it's okay.

she sits across from us and claps her hands in excitement.

"well, I have some good news?

" what is it, mother?"

her smile whatever at Reagan's time but she composed herself quickly and smile widely

"Prince Caspian has found his mate"

my breath hitch at that did she knows that I am his mate?

but wait why is she so happy about it?

"Why are you telling us this?

Reg questioned

" Because his mate is Ingrid"

I hold the table cloth in my fist to calm myself down. I don't like it when she mentioned Ingrid as Caspian's mate. I am his mate not her but I have to control myself. Alpha James told me to act along with her.

she noticed my clenched fist but didn't question, instead, she continues with her gushing about how her daughter is going to be Dragon queen.

"now the second good news, King Lucian has also found his mate today"

my eyes widen at that.

if he has already found his mate then why he wants to marry me. or did he found his mate after our conversation.

is that mean he is not after me?

I was processing her words when she tells us who is his mate

"his mate is our Elora"

Reagan and I both stood up eminently

"what do you mean El is his mate?"

Reg asked her.

"calm down Reagan, you must be thinking that Elora is human she can't find her mate. I know humans cant sense their mate but we can. King Lucian has sensed their mate bond. I am so happy for you Elora."

with that she excused herself

"I have to tell this to Prince Caspian"

just then ballroom doors opened and comes my mate with Alpha James by his side.

I can sense the air shift in the room. everyone's gaze is at Caspian. his eyes mate with mine and I can see them softened for a second before they hardened again.

he heads towards Dragon king and queen.

they both hug him congratulating him on finding his mate.

I can see how his face remains expressionless this whole time.

then I remembered the conversation between those maids.

were they talking truth? everyone says he is ruthless and has no mercy on anyone. he demands respect from everyone.

I can see why everyone thinks that way.

everyone is looking at him but no one dares to approach him.

after some time Alpha James approaches us.

"Princess Elora, Fae queen is going to announce now that Princess Ingrid is Prince Caspian's mate. I just want you to act along like you are okay with it for some time. I know it is hard for you but I have to do this. I hope you understand?"

I nodded at him

"I have to tell you something Alpha James "

Reg tells about Lucian's plan about me being his mate.

Alpha James nodded at that with a smirk playing on his lips.

"This is interesting"

he commented

"Don't worry I will manage it"

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen, I hope everyone is enjoying themselves"

Angeline spoke while standing on the stage placed beside the dance floor.

everyone agreed with her by raising their glasses.

"I am here to announce the good news that King Lucian has found his mate."

everyone cheers at that.

"I request you to come here King Lucian and tell us who is your mate, I am sure everyone would like to meet the future Vampire queen."

Right after Lucian joins Angeline on the stage.

"my mate is Fae princess Elora"

everyone cheers after some moments.

"Come here, Elora"

Angeline tells me

I nodded at that and make my way to the stage.

I gaze at Caspian after standing beside King Lucian, he looks so furious that I fear for Lucian's life.

"wai"

Alpha James spoke suddenly

"I thought Princess Elora is human and as per my knowledge humans cant sense mates"

Angelina's hand clinch at her side but her smile never leaves her face.

"you are right Alpha James humans cant sense their mate that is why King Lucian is the one who sensed their bond, not Princess Elora"

Alpha James nodded at that

"that makes sense, but how do you know princess Elora is human? I mean her both parents are Fae so she must have some Fae power"

now Angeline is annoyed.

I can see it on her face, she is trying her best not to see it to everyone but I can see through her.

"I know she is human, she never got her wings or power"

"King Lucian is not my mate"

I say interrupting their conversation.

I can see everyone's eyes landed on me but I kept my gaze focused on Caspian.

"what do you mean he's not your mate, you can't tell who is your mate since you are human"

angeline stated while clutching my forearm in her grip.

but I didn't back down.

I don't know from where this confidence came from but I think this is good

I am liking it.

"I know because I have already found my mate"

I can hear several gasps

"enough Elora, we know you cant sense mate because you are human. stop laying and making a fool of yourself "

my father roared

this is the first time in my whole life when my father talked to me but still, he is not talking with me as a father but the king.

well, I never expected anything, from him anyway still it hurts.

"who is your mate?"

Aloha James asked

"Dragon Prince Caspian"

I answered without hesitation

"you have gone too far this time Elora, you know very well Ingrid is Prince Caspian's mate. how can you lie about such a thing when you can't even sense mate bond. I was right about you all along you don't deserve to be here I should have left you alone all your life..."

Angeline was cut off by a growl that shook the entire ballroom.

everyone step aside to give some space to Caspian when he marched towards Angeline. he was about to attack her but I jump between them.

"don't, it's okay Caspian. Calm down"

I place my hand on his chest to calm him down.

"what is going on here, explain Princess Elora"

Dragon King demanded

"I am telling the truth, your highness, Prince Caspian is my mate"

I replied with a bow in respect

he then turns his gaze at Caspian

"Elora is my mate father"

Caspian confirmed.

I can hear some gasps and murmured from the crowd.

prince Caspian can't accept a human as his mate. she can't be a queen.

such a weakling cant be a queen.

I can hear the crowd murmuring.

but before I can do anything Caspian tightens his hold on me and growled silencing anyone.

"I demand respect from ever for your future dragon queen"

I can sense he is too furious.

his aura is too strong that everyone was forced to bow in the submission even king and queen from all kingdom except me and Dragon king and queen.

the chill runs down my body at the sight of Caspian, his eyes are pitch black, black veins popping on his neck and forearm.

I was too scared but fascinated at the same time.

I traced the vein on his neck and he snaps his head in my direction.

I place my other hand on his face caressing his cheek softly.

he calms down at my touch.

"how you sense him as his mate when you are a human"

angeline spoke in a daze

"Are you sure?"

I ask her

"what do you mean?'

she asked me

" Are you sure that I am human?"

she narrowed her eyes at me

I smirk at her and do what I wanted to do for a long time.

I step aside from Caspian and spread my wings.

Everyone gasps in shock.

I can see Caspian is looking at me amazed by my Fairy form.

her wings are silver-colored, they are rare. no one has silver wings

I can again hear people muttering to themselves in shock.

I gaze at Reg, he's smiling ear to ear. when he saw I was staring at him he node at me with a proud look on his face.

Angeline, Ingrid, and my father's looked at me in shock eyes wide open.

when my father senses my gaze at him he averts his gaze from me.

Dragon King and queen both are smiling with admiration.

finally, when I land my gaze on King Lucian, I met his gaze without wavering. but what I saw in his eyes shocked me.

he was looking at me with a hunger and hate and so much more, a chill pass through my body.

I still don't know why he lied to everyone that I am his mate when am not.

I have to find out.
