Ingrid's POV___

Today is Red moon ball. I have to look perfect. I just want to impress Prince Caspian so he can choose me as his Mate. I don't think he will find his true mate.

So this is my chance to shine, or what if I am his true mate, that would be just perfect.

either way, I will be dragon princess and then Queen.

I was about to call my lady's maid to help me get ready for the ball when my bedroom door burst open.

I turn around to come face to face with Liam.

ohh boy not again.

why is he acting like a loser?

"what in the hell is your problem, Liam. "

he approached me and about to hold my hands when I backed away from him.

"don't you dare touch me!! I have already told you it is over between us. just because I dated you for some time doesn't mean we will be together for our entire lives. you know we are not humans. we are Fae and we all have mates"

I try to reason with him. I don't want him to create an issue today.

he is still going to be second in command when Reagan becomes king.

Liam is good but I am not born to spend my life with someone like him. I am a princess and will marry a prince only.

"so you are dumping me because you think that dragon prince will choose you as a mate?"

he snorts and continued

"don't be stupid Ingrid you are not even 18 yet, he would never choose you as a mate. you are overestimating yourself, just because you are some Fae princess doesn't mean every man will fall on your feet."

I was filming at this moments

"guards!!"

I yell and two guards come into my room

"show him out of my room and make sure he dont get to enter my room again"

with that, they drag him out of my room

I scream at the top of my lungs. f*****g asshole he had to ruin my mood.

calm down Ingrid, take deep breaths

I instructed myself.

everyone will see who I am at the ball today. there is no man on this planet to not fall for my beauty.

I enter the Ballroom with mum to be with her and dad to welcome our guests. everyone was pretty impressed by me.

now I am just waiting for Dragon prince to walk through that doors.

"have you seen Reagan?"

"no mum."

just then Reagan walks in through the doors with...what the f**k.

why that b***h is here.

That pathetic Elora is with my brother.

I looked at mum to see her making her way towards them.

I can feel she is furious.

I still don't know why he likes that ugly-faced Elora so much.

I am restraining myself from lashing out at her just because I don't want to ruin my image in front of everyone.

Nikki tells me pointing in the direction where that b***h is sitting alone.

I smirk at that.

I make my way towards her.

"since when maids allowed to attend the royal events?"

Nikki snort

"Ohh Nikki, don't be like that you know how much of softy my brother is when he sees charity cases. he can't stop helping them. "

I commented with a smirk on my lips. I am really enjoying this.

"have you polished all my shoes?"

I ask her just to get more into her skin, I like when I see her helpless face.

"yes princess"

she answered looking down.

"Did you just say, princess? "

Nikki asked

"start addressing her as Queen Ingrid because she is going to be a dragon Queen soon."

another girl whose name I don't know comments from behind me.

I toyed with the glass intentionally just to drop it on her dress but that stupid girl for. behind me have to bump on me and ruin my plan along with my dress.

now everyone is staring at me.

such a disaster

I hurried to the washroom to clean my dress.

I have to be quick prince Caspian will be there anytime soon.

but this f*****g dress is all ruined.

I have to change quickly.

my lady's maid helps me to change into another dress and put on new makeup to match my new dress.

after changing I hurried back to the ballroom only to be welcomed by my overjoyed mother.

"What happened mom why are you so happy?

she hugs me very tight, I smile at her waiting for her replay

" I am so happy for you darling, I never thought it will be so easy for you to become prince Caspian's mate. just don't go anywhere now I will announce about you being Prince Caspian's mate once he is here."

I wanted to ask how she knows I am his mate? I didn't even mate him yet but she quickly left me there and make her way towards dad.

never mind, the main thing is my dream to become a queen will be fulfilled.

but everything comes crashing down when Prince Caspian admits that his mate is not me but that b***h, Elora.

why everyone like that slut, first my brother and now the man I wanted to be mine.

she has to ruin everything.

she won't get what I wanted for myself. I'll kill her before she leaves this place with my prince.

he will choose me, he can be mine only no one else can come in between us.

I hated Elora before but now I am feeling like my hatred for her has increased 10 times more. because of her, my mom is going to lose her position as a queen. Dragon King has decided to dethrone mum because she lied about that b***h being a mate of Vampire king.

I still don't know why mom did that but I am sure she wanted her to go far away from our lives. I don't blame her for thinking like that.

I waited for everyone to leave from the throne room first when only Reagan and Elora left in the room. I marched towards her

attacking I was about to strike her when Reagan jump in front of her.

I felt hurt, Reagan is my brother still he is helping that b***h.

I was so furious that I lifted my hand to attack her again when I felt the force attacked me.

The next second I was thrown across the room, I am unable to stay conscious. I gaze at Reagan in the hope to come to me. help me but no he was looking at that b***h

I tried to use my magic again to attack her but my hands are tied by magical rope the next second.

I knew Reagan like her more than me but never thought he will stand by her side in a situation like this.

without glancing back at me he gave the order to maids to take me out of the throne room.

I didn't protest because I don't have energy now.

but this won't end here, that b***h will pay for this.

Elora's POV____

after the revealing of Prince Caspian's true mate, the Dragon King Riordan ordered all of us to gather in the throne room.

"I was not expecting that"

Alpha James commented

"Alpha James I..."

he cut me off before I can say anything

"you can call me James"

I nodded at him

"James I am so sorry I should have told you and Caspian about this before but..."

again I was cut off by Caspian

"We should get going "

he pulled me towards him away from James

his expression gloom

what is wrong with him, cant he smiles more?

I can see James is not a bit affected by his behavior, he must be used to his behavior.

we make our way to the throne room. when we enter I can see everyone has already arrived except Dragon king and queen.

we all stand in front of the throne. I make my way to Reg to ask him how did it go with Angeline and our father.

"what happened?

did you tell them that you already knew about me being Caspian's mate?"

I whispered to him

"No, I didn't tell them."

he sighs and continued to tell me

" I asked mom why she lied about Ingrid being Prince Caspian's mate but she told me that was a misunderstanding. but we know that was not a misunderstanding"

I nodded at him in agreement.

I looked at Caspian who is discussing something with James. I can't help but trailed my eyes at his broad back, he instantly turned back and lock eyes with me.

shit...

I blush instantly. I got caught staring at him. oh my God, my cheeks must be the shade of dark red now.

I was so engrossed in my thoughts about Caspian that I forgot Lucian is present in the same room and continuously observing me.

that guy creeps the hell out of me.

I am still confused why would he lie about me being his mate, he never mentioned anything like that when we were dancing.

And why would he lie just to marry me? it is not like he would have benefited anything from it.

Dragon King and queen appeared after some moments.

everyone bowed in respect to them.

King Riordan took a seat on the Throne and queen scarlet seat on the small throne placed beside King's throne.

I can feel queens' gaze linger on me for some time.

she was my mother's best friend.

on that site, I remembered now why I came into this ball in the first place. I was here to find the person who sent my mother's letter to me.

I forgot about that into all the things that happened today.

I knew it won't be easy but I didn't think that I would forget about the main reason for which I came here.

I jump in surprise when King Riordan's voice boomed.

"Why do you lie about Princess Elora being your mate King Lucian?"

King Riordan asked

I was wondering about the same thing so I focus on what King Lucian is saying which didn't shock me much.

"I never confirmed that Princess Elora is my mate, I just expressed my feelings that I would like to choose Princess Elora as my queen since I still haven't found my mate. Queen Angeline must have misinterpreted what I told her."

of course, she will misunderstand. this is not the first time anyway.

everyone looked at Angeline for the explanation next.

"Queen Angeline, explain this?"

King Riordan demanded

"I Request your forgiveness, your highness, I was just looking after Elora since she is human and can't find a mate I thought it will be great that she marries King Lucian. I should have clarified that he is not her mate first."

King Riordan growled at that.

"This type of mistake is not acceptable from the Queen, I think I have made myself clear about the situation King Xavier."

King direct his statement to my father or you can say, fae king.

I will never be comfortable calling him my father.

Far king nodded at Dagon king in agreement.

"Yes your highness"

Angeline was unable to utter a word out of her mouth.

what did they discuss?

I looked at Reg but he shook his head telling me that he doesn't know anything about what are they talking about either.

"Everyone should inform Alpha James first if they are choosing their mate other than their destined mate."

Queen scarlet announced.

with that Dragon King and queen left the throne room.

"Prince Reagan please escort princess Elora to my room"

Caspian informed Reg then he and James followed after King and queen.

King Lucian, Fae king, and angeline followed out shortly after.

Now only me Reg and Ingrid is left.

yes, Ingrid...

in all this drama I forgot about Ingrid.

I didn't notice her all this time were where she?

"Let's go El, it's getting late"

Reg nudge me to go with him, but Ingrid was having another plan.

she marched towards me with a scowl on her face.

then only I noticed her eyes are red, she was crying.

"you fuking wore, mom should never have brought you here. you ruined my life y..."

she was about to jump on me when Reg jump between us and stops her.

I just stood there looking at her.

"I didn't do anything, Ingrid."

I said calmly

"you have auditory to answer me b***h. don't think that Prince Caspian has found out that you are his mate so you will rule by his side. he will never accept you. he hasn't seen what the loser you are. when he sees that you are not worthy of being queen he will leave you just like dad left your mother. you..."

that hurt... I have never tried to bother with her bully but now she has gone too far. how dare she think about smashing my mate away from me.

before she can say anything more about my mother she went flying across the throne room. she landed on her knees about to strike back at me but Reg tied her hand using his magic.

he summoned two maids and asked them to escort Ingrid to her room.

both the maids help her out of the room and shut the door.

then only I got my senses back and understand that it was me who attacked Ingrid but...I...I didn't do anything.

I looked at my hands only to realize I am not standing on the ground anymore. I am floating few feet up from the ground.

" El, calm down."

Reg approached me slowly.

"I...I didn't do it...I didn't know"

I stammered, I can't breathe properly. what just happened?

"it's okay El, calm down. it's not a big deal Ingrid is fine. calm down and try to get back down."

Reg tried to coax me but my mind is blank. I don't know what to think, how did I do that.

then suddenly door of the throne room burst open and their walk-in my mate

"Caspian "

by head felt dizzy

"what is going on here?"

Caspian roared but I can't respond to him because I fainted.

I waited to fall on the hard floor but two strong arms held me from falling to the ground instead.

"I've got you, princess"

I hear Caspian whisper to me before darkness consumes me.
