Meeting with in-laws

Caspian's POV___

"in which cell they were locked?"

I asked James.

"I'll show you, come"

he leads us in front of the small cellar.

I pointed him to unlock it.

once unlocked I enter the cellar and cast a revealing spell.

I step out of the cellar and head out of the dungeon without any word.

I know who did this but I am sure someone else is involved in this.

she is not alone.

"Reagan tell your guards to keep an eye on everyone. if they encounter anything suspicious let me know. "

I told Reagan.

"sure"

with that, he left me and James in James's room.

James locked the door.

"what? did you find something?"

"yes"

he arches his eyebrows asking me to tell him what exactly I have discovered.

"well, I cast a revealing spell on the spot where they committed suicide, and someone cast a spell in them to do it."

he nodded at me.

"what do you think who would have done it?"

"I didn't feel anyone's present there except those 3 men and guards. I feel this is the work of a witch."

"Are you implying that this is the same witch, who we are searching for for decades?"

I sigh

"maybe, we have to investigate this in private. I don't want anyone to know that we are suspecting anyone."

he agreed with me.

"okay"

I enter my bedroom to find my mate still slumbering. I have few hours before introducing Elora to my parents.

I strip out of my clothes and join my mate in the bade pulling her into me.

soon I found myself dozing off.

Elora's POV___

sun rays peeking through the curtains I stirred in the bed only to find Caspian beside me in the bed.

I smile at the feeling of him near me. sparks flew into my body as he tightened his arms around me.

"Good morning princess"

he says in his groggy voice. my cheeks heated at the sight of him. he is not wearing a shirt again.

why did he have to sleep without clothes on?

I can't stop staring at his perfect muscular broad shoulders.

he is too big for me.

stop it, Elora, you are embarrassing yourself by openly ogling your mate in broad daylight.

I told myself.

"When did you come back?"

I asked him while looking anywhere but him.

he tilts my head to look into his eyes.

his gray orbs shine into the sunlight.

"I came a few hours ago, you were sleeping so I didn't disturb you."

I nodded at him unable to form any word under his intense gaze.

I wanted to ask him what now? I mean now I know we are mates and he isn't going to reject me so what am I supposed to do now?

will I be moving out of here and go with his or I have to wait till he comes back to get me.

I was so confused.

"what are you thinking princess?"

he asked me.

"nothing"

I replied but he didn't but it. he hardens his gaze at me.

"I... I just wanted to know what is going to happen next. now we know we are mates so..."

I trailed off unable to think how to express my thoughts about the situation.

"I know you didn't expect anything of this to happen but didn't worry I am here with you. you are not alone. and to answer your question we have to get ready. we are having breakfast with my parents. they want to meet you personally."

I am meeting his parents over breakfast. my mate's parents who are king and queen.

I look at my clothes which is Caspian's jumper.

I don't have presentable clothes to meet them. everything I have is Reagan's old clothes.

"I can't meet them."

I blurted out without thinking.

"why?"

Caspian raised his brows questioning me.

I looked away from him

"I don't have formal clothes to go in front of King and queen."

I was so ashamed to admit it in front of him.

what he will be thinking of me, I don't even have proper clothes.

he is a prince and I am so broke to a ford anything.

"that's not a problem princess, and who told you you don't have formal clothes?"

he asked me, I thought he is making fun of me but his expressions told me the opposite.

he is serious.

I looked at him confused.

he sighs and sits upon the bed, I follow his actions and sit in front of him.

"Elora you are my mate that means you are now Dragon kingdom's princess. you have everything which you deserve. you just have to tell people what you want and you will have it."

I try to process his words.

still unsure how am I going to play my role as the princess I nodded at him.

what if I don't know, it's not like I can't learn things.

moon goddesses have given me second chance so I can at least try to learn things.

"Okay, it is a lot to take in but I will try to grasp as much as possible."

I told him.

he smiled at me.

my heart leaped at the sight.

he leans into me and kisses me on my forehead.

I blush at his affection.

I still can't believe I have him as my mate for entire my life.

we both were lost in the eyes of each other when a soft knock on the door pulled us into reality.

"your highness princess Elora's servant for the day is here."

the guard on the door informed.

"let her in after 5 minutes."

Caspian replied.

he got out of the bed and wore his robe.

"that servant will bring your dresses and accessories with her. she will help you get ready."

I looked at him confused.

"I don't need anyone to help me get ready "

I told him but he just ignores my comment.

the maid comes and bows her head.

"help process Elora to get ready for breakfast with King and queen,"

he informs her.

with that, he started to walk in the direction of the bathroom.

"choose your dress till I get ready."

with that saying, he closes the bathroom door and I can hear water flowing in the shower.

that's when I turn my attention to the maid. her head is still bowed in submission.

"you can relax, no need to bow all the time."

I tell her. she hesitates at first but relaxes a bit.

"What is your name?"

I asked her.

"Nina Princess,"

she replied shyly.

I look around where are the dresses. she seems to understand what I am looking for so she turns around and opens the front door.

there comes a guard rolling the Hanger stock full of dresses.

he left the room after bowing to me.

I get out of bed to check which dress I should wear.

I run my fingers through the fabric of all the clothes. I can tell they are expensive just by touching them.

after going through so many dresses I decided to go with a peach-colored pencil skirt which have flower printed on it and a white sleeveless top. nude pointed-toe pump.

"Nice choice"

Caspian commented striking out of the bathroom in his robe.

he winked at me.

my eyes widen. then I saw Nina's back facing us.

after some time Lucas came out dressed in a gray tux. he is looking gorgeous. u can't take my eyes off him.

he came closer to me bent down and kiss below my ear.

I shiver at his touch.

"I'll come to get you in an hour."

with that, he left me with Nina.

that was hot. Nina turns around only to go inside the bathroom.

she runs a bath for me putting some essential oils in it.

she offers to help me wash my hair but I refused her politely.

I still don't understand why anyone needs help to shower.

whatever. I kept my bath quick.

after almost 20 to 25 minutes I get out of the bathroom wearing the fluffy robe.

I sat on the vanity to let Nina do my hair.

I told her I can do it but she insisted so I can't refuse her.

she blow-dried my hair and braid them in cute style.

I told her to not apply too much makeup on my face so we settled with eyeliner Little blush and nude pink lipstick.

after Nina was finished I put the dress on.

I was surprised that it was a perfect size.

Nina gave me a rose gold-colored bracelet to war with a matching earring but I only wore a bracelet and put on the earnings given by Reagan on my birthday.

I looked at my reflection in the mirror only to look at elegant women.

I can't believe my eyes only some clothes and shoes can change your appearance so drastically.

I was a poor ugly looking girl till yesterday evening and now I am a Princess.

everything changed too fast I didn't even get time to wrap my mind around everything.

I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't notice when Nina left and Caspian enter the room.

he stands behind me staring at my reflection with pure adoration in his eyes.

I lock eyes with him in the mirror.

"you are so beautiful"

he commented placing a kiss on my bare shoulder.

I shiver at his touch.

he intertwined our hands. sparks flew through my body at his mare touch.

"let's go we can't let my parents wait."

I nodded at him and we both walk out of the room hand in hand.

he leads me in the direction of the guest rooms specially prepared for King and Queen.

two-guard following us.

once in front of the room one guard go inside to announce our presence.

after few moments we enter.

their bed-chamber has four rooms, living room, bedroom, bathroom, and attached closet.

King and Queen were sitting on the balcony attached to the living room.

Caspian and I make our way towards them. I bowed instantly in front of them but Queen stand up and stopped me midway.

"you don't have to courtesy when we are not in front of people,"

she tells me with a smile on her face.

I nodded at her with a smile.

"come sit next to me."

I gaze at Caspian who nodded at me to go sit next to her then king who has a soft smile on his usually stoic face.

I hesitantly sat next to her.

In few moments two maids entered the room with a rolling cart full of various types of food.

one maid pick up the bowl in her hand I thought she is serving to the king but then the other maid put a small amount of all dishes in that bowl.

is king going to eat everything? that's strange.

but then the first maid started to eat the food from that bowl.

I gasped at that. why she is eating that?

I started to panic for her well-being because I thought she will be punished for her behavior but stopped when I saw no one from the royal family is affected by the scene.

I frow at that.

what is happening here? I wanted to ask but stop myself. I will ask Caspian about this later. I don't want to ruin my first meeting with his parents.

once the maid finishes eating all the food from her bowl we waited for 5 minutes then another maid started to survey us.

I only took two pancakes on my plate.

although the food in front of me is mouth-watering I can't eat much due to my small amount of food diet.

I barely got any food before so I can't eat much.

Caspian raised his brow seeing the amount of food on my plate but choose not to say anything and I am thankful for that.

"How are you feeling Elora? I heard you fainted yesterday."

Queen scarlet asked me. I gulp at that.

"I am feeling better today your highness."

I replied with a small smile.

"I have told you already you don't have to be formal with me. I am your mother in law after all you can call me mom."

my eyes widen at her comment.

"Don't rush her my love, she is not used to this. give her some time."

King said to the queen, his voice held the love for her.

"I know, I just want her to know that we are family now. she will marry my son in few days after all."

my grip on the fork loses at her statement and it falls.

"Stop it, mum, you are scaring her."

Caspian demanded.

"Okay okay, "

Queen raised her hand in resignation.

she turned to me and hold my hands.

"Elora, my dear I know it is a lot to take in but I want you to remember you are made for this. you were destined to do this. so it will more easy for you when you accept what you are."

I nodded at her in agreement. she is right. I have to accept this.

"good now have your breakfast, you have to eat more. you are too thin for my son."

"mother."

Caspian groaned.

"oh stop it Caspian."

Queen Scarlet swats Caspian playfully.

both son and father shake their head with a chuckle in amusement.

I was quite surprised to see their bond.

I never saw my father and Reagan having any conversation like this comfortable.

then again his mother is not like a queen scarlet.

seeing the people in front of me who are my family now I am looking forward to seeing how my life will turn out.

my cheeks heated at the touch of Caspian's hand on my hand under the table.

our eyes lock only to increase the sparks.
