Chapter 6

We stood there looking at each other in shock.
“You are so beautiful,” Blaze said as he came over and rubbed my shoulder. “I will be right back”, he said, and ran off behind a tree. Within seconds came this big black wolf with a white patch on his chest that looked like a wolf's head. I looked around, and Jake and Jason had shifted to because they were also black wolves, but their white spot was in a different place. Jasons was on his back, and Jake’s was on his head.
“Why are we different from other wolves?” Ashley asked in a mind link.
“I don't know”, Kota said as we walked over to mom and dad. We looked at them with questioning looks on our faces, and you could see in their faces that they did not know. I am starting to get worried now.
“Let's not worry about it right now,” mom said, “I want to run with my daughter,” as she walked behind a tree to shift. I have seen mom's wolf, so it was nothing new to me. She walked out with dad, and they almost matched. Mom was a light brown with blonde-like patches, and dad was close to the same but a little darker. They were both bigger than us girls.
“Let’s run”, dad said, and took off running. I looked at Ashley and Kota, then took off after mom and dad with our mates right next to us, and Alpha Mike came running behind us.
We ran for hours, and it was around 4 am when we returned to the field. Mom and dad shifted back and got dressed.
“ I will be right back,” mom said as she ran to the house. She came back a few minutes later with clothes for us.
“OK, now I want you to imagine your human form and keep a clear picture in your head.” I closed my eyes and pictured what I looked like. I saw my long blonde hair and short chubby frame, and then the pain and fire hit. But this time, it did not take as long as when I shifted the first time. Mom handed us some clothes; dad, alpha mike, and the guys had turned around, so we could get dressed. As we walked back to the house, it was quiet.
“Why do you think our wolves are those colors?” I asked mom and dad.
“I don't know, but we will check on it,” dad said.
Then Alpha Mike came up to us.
Y'all did great, and those wolves are amazing,” he said “ I have to head home. I will call the elders tomorrow about everything, and I will ask about the colors of your wolves, too,” and he hugged each of us and headed home.
“Come on, boys, you will see them tomorrow”, Alpha said. The guys wanted to protest, but one look from Alpha Mike, and they knew better. They gave us a kiss and followed Alpha. When we arrived at the house, we walked inside. “I am heading to bed; I am so sleepy,” Ashley and Kota agreed. We went to my room and passed out.
When I woke up the following day, I was so excited. Ashley and Kota were already downstairs with mom and eating breakfast. Walking down the stairs, I could hear them all laughing and talking about last night.
I walked into the kitchen and sat down at the bar with the others. “ How are you feeling today?” asked mom.
“I am good, just a little sore from last night and I did not sleep that well.” I told her as I lay my head on the counter. “Maybe it's because we were not with our mates because Ash and I didn't sleep well at all either.” replied Kota. “ Oh yeah we have mates.” I said laughing. “Don't tell me you forgot?” Ashley said as she started to laugh too. “ Yeah kinda”
“How could you forget about our mate? He is so handsome, and I can't wait to have him close to us again” said Rose.
“I know we will see him soon” I said as I got up to get breakfast.
“But when will that be? You take forever to get ready”
“No I don't Rose.”
“Yes you do. You have to get dressed and do your make-up just right”
“ Yeah, I have to look good and now that we have a mate I have to look better” I said with a giggle. I sat back down and started eating. “ How wild is it that your mate is the Alphas' son”, Ashley said with excitement in her voice.
“ I know right, I never would have thought. I know we have talked about it but wow”, Kota said.
“So what does this mean for me?” I asked mom and dad.
“ Well, I was talking to Alpha, and he said he was going to talk to the elders about everything and get back to me.” Dad said, then he looked at his watch.
“ He should be getting out of his meeting with them soon.”
Just then, dad’s phone rang.
“ Hello Alpha, yes we will be right there” dad said and hung up.
“ Alpha is out of his meeting and wants to meet with your mother and I.”
“OK well, we will tag along, so we can see the guys” I said with a massive smile.
“OK, but you will stay together and in a group” dad said
“What no alone time with our mates?” I said, joking with dad.
“ Hell no, I don't want to be a grandpa yet,” he said, laughing and walking away.
