Chapter 14

We arrived back home and pulled up in front of the pack house. I linked Yogi that we were back and asked her to come help. She came out the door with Blaze and I ran right to him. “Everything OK?” he asked, “Yeah, I will explain later, and I missed you” I said, pulling him in for a kiss. His lips were so soft I could kiss him all day. The kiss deepened. Before I knew it, he was pulling away, and we were both breathing heavily. We turned and headed to the car to help take stuff in. We walked into the house and sat the cake and stuff down. Then I heard Yogi yell “ We have 1 hour, let's get this done” . I walked over to her. “Where do you need me, sis?” I asked, “ Go help mom in the kitchen. I need to keep an eye on these guys to make sure this is done right”, Yogi said, and walked away. I walked into the kitchen laughing. “ What's so funny?” mom asked. “ Your daughter is a crazy woman right now” I told her and she laughed too. “Well, she wants to make sure this party is a good one.” mom said as she put a tray of lil smokies pig in a blanket in the oven. “ I know, but she is running us into the ground with her being so bossy” I told mom. “ We just have an hour to go then Zane will be here, and she will relax a little” mom told me. “ We will see. What do you need my help with?” I asked “ you can drop cookie dough on this tray, so I can get it into the other oven” she said handing me the cookie sheet. OK, will do "I replied. The pack house kitchen is huge. It has 4 ovens, 2 stoves and 5 fridges plus a big island in the middle to prep at.

Time went by so fast, and before I knew it Blaze came into the kitchen. “ I am heading to get Zane, I will be back soon” he told me, then gave me a kiss.

“ Ok, drive safe,”

“ Always”

I walked over to the oven and got the cookies out. Mom and I plated everything up and started taking it out to the tables. We made sure everything was in place. Yogi was double-checking everything and stressing over if Zane would like it or not. “ He would love it just sit down and relax. They will be here soon”, I told her and led her over to a chair and made her sit.

As we waited, mom and I walked around and double-checked all the food and tables. Making sure we had everything and it was all in the right spot. All the food was nice and warm and the drinks were cold. I walked back over and sat next to Yogi. The rest of the pack members that had been showing up were standing around talking in the living room. “ We are about 15 mins. away” Blaze said, through the link. He must have just got close enough to get it through. “ ok 15 mins and they will be here. Everyone, get in your place and be read.” I said as I grabbed mom and Yogi's hand to walk to the front. We get everyone in their place and that's when we hear a car coming up the driveway. Everyone was so quiet and we waited. We heard footsteps coming up the steps to the front door. The door opened and everyone yelled “WELCOME HOME”. Zane came walking through the door, eyes wide and smelling the air. This could only mean one thing. We all started looking around and found what he was looking for.

“ MATE ”

That was all we heard and he took off to where we were standing. That's when I heard it again, but this time it came from next to me.

“ MATE ”

I looked at Yogi and she was staring right at Zane.
