Chapter 3: So this is… Magic

After I read the book, I tried reaching for the other books on the book shelf but I couldn't get one. I tried pulling as hard as I could but still couldn't and the other books were out of my reach, but I know what I can do! And that is asking my parents!

So… Let's try to ask my parents about magic!

While Rayford was looking for his parents, he saw his mother out the window doing magic to water the plants. He was so fascinated about the magic that he kept on staring at the water since what he saw was a very beautiful blue light shining out of his mother's hands and water came out of it.

Rayford's mother saw him looking at her hand and then walked towards Rayford.

"Ray, are you interested in magic?" Said Clara, my mother with a smile.

"(nods)" replied Rayford.

"Then I'll demonstrate how magic works, my affinity for magic is water by the way." Said Clara, my mother.

I closely looked at her and her hands on how magic works.

My mother then performed a chant and chanted these words "O' our God, please give me the power to use your holy powers of water and answer my calls to wield them, water creation!". Then after the chant was done, her hands began to glow a bluish light color then water came out of her hand.

"Wow! So that's how you use magic… But is it possible to do chantless magic?" I said with a curious looking face.

"Good question, well you can but the magic power will be weak since the magic of this world is created by the God, so you need to chant or pray to make your magic at normal power." Replied Clara, my mother.

"Is there a way to make your magic stronger?" I said.

"Unfortunately no, but if your mana is a lot then maybe it will be stronger." Replied Clara, my mother.

"Ohhh I see, thank you mother." I replied with an excited face.

"I'm excited about what your affinity will be, Ray." Said Clara, my mother with a smile.

I see, so my mother's affinity is water, next let's try asking father.

Rayford then searched for his father in the basement and saw him sharpening a sword.

"What are you doing, father?" I asked with a curious look.

"Ohh, Ray. I'm sharpening my sword, so… You want a sword?" said Eric, my father with a smirk.

"I can have a sword!?" I replied looking excited.

"Ofcourse! but don't tell your mother, ok?" Replied Eric, my father.

"(nod, nod)" I replied.

"Ok then, it will take 3 months to finish your sword since I'll make your sword to be a good quality one." said Eric, my father.

Rayford then walked out of the basement and went to his room to try doing magic.

So let's try chanting water magic… What was the chant again… Oh I remember now, I think it was "O' our God, please give me the power to use your holy powers of water and answer my calls to wield them, water creation!"... nothing huh… Oh right, I think it's because I don't have water affinity, then I guess I'll have to wait for a couple of years to know what my affinity is or if something happened, maybe my power will come out like being excited or something just like in anime, manga, and games, where the characters activates their powers by some incidents. But I guess that won't happen huh, well I guess I have no choice but to wait… Wait a minute! I just forgot to ask my father what his magic is! Oh well, I'll wait for tomorrow.
