The Japanese government took a firm line with Angel and Adhara, politely requesting them to leave the country due to a wave of hysteria sweeping through the population. Talk of an impending Apocalypse provoked panic-buying and even suicides. On the other hand, New Zealand received their message with equanimity, scepticism and jokes. Australians pelted them with rotten eggs and squishy tomatoes, which convinced Angel to act.
