MORNING LIGHT Alex's POV The first rays of morning sunlight filtered through the floor-to-ceiling windows, casting a warm glow across my bedroom. The storm had passed. The rain had stopped sometime before dawn, leaving the gardens outside washed clean and glistening beneath the early morning light. I had been awake for several minutes. Not because of work.
