LOVE BEYOND MEMORY The car rolled slowly through the tall iron gates of Dallas Manor, the security team greeting Alex with respectful nods before the gates closed quietly behind us. The mansion stood bathed in the soft glow of the evening lights, elegant and peaceful against the darkening sky. As the car came to a smooth stop beneath the front entrance, I glanced around. "It's quiet," I murmured. Alex followed my gaze. "Thomas asked for a few days off." I looked at him. "He wanted to visit his family. I told him to take a break." I smiled warmly. "I'm glad he did." "So am I." The driver stepped out first and opened my door. I climbed out, smoothing the skirt of my dress before looking up at the familiar mansion. Memories I had tried so hard to bury stirred quietly inside me.
