By the following afternoon, every meeting on our schedule had finally come to an end.
The contracts had been signed.
The investors had agreed to the partnership.
Every presentation had been delivered successfully.
And Dallas Enterprises had secured one of the biggest business opportunities in the company's recent history.
I closed the final folder in front of me and let out a slow breath.
"It's done."
Alex, who had been signing the last document, looked up and smiled.
"It is."
He placed his pen on the polished conference table before leaning back in his chair for what felt like the first time since we had arrived in New York.
"I don't think I've sat still for more than five minutes since yesterday."
I laughed softly.
"You've earned the rest."
