No pity

Liam POV  "Liam" - James called out to me, looking as if I was someone to be pitied. His eyes were teary, his face had an expression of pain and compassion, which made me almost laugh. I would have laughed like a maniac if it wasn't for the absurdity that I was living at.  My father, whom I hadn't seen in years had just died in my arms. My sister had disappeared, right after I gave her a huge amount of money. What has my life suddenly become? Is this a cruel joke or something?  Even James is pitting me! Me!! I may cause a lot of emotion in other people but never compassion, let alone pity.  God damned! Whoever did this to my family will pay dearly! They have no idea with whom they have messed. Rage, anger, and determination are building up inside me, but it's only making my head clear and my mind sharp. If anything, revenge has always fueled me. "Prepare everything for the funeral, get the best service possible. Call that damn investigator. I want my sister here and I want her now!" - as always my voice was commanding and calm, but somehow James was shocked by my reaction.  "Liam... Are you sure you don't some time alone? I will handle everything, you don't have to..." - that damn voice again, full of compassion. It made me sick  "Do as I say!" - I couldn't even bear it anymore, so I cut him short.  "Yes" - James nodded with his head, after a short hesitation  "Do as I say!" - I shouted at him, losing my temper once again.  "And James?"  "Yes?" - he turned again towards me "Never again I want you to pity me! I am Liam f*****g Anderson! I didn't come this far by crying wolf for mercy and compassion"  ..................................... James POV  My God! What was happening? Not even a month in this God-forgotten town and hell is breaking loose. I warned Liam not to come here, but when did he ever listen to anyone?  Now his father is dead, his sister is missing... I hope she is still alive, but by any passing hour, the probabilities are lower.   How could this happen? I knew something was up with her at the Church concert, why didn't I just ask her? Maybe someone was threatening her? That's why she insisted to take all the money at once? But why would she do that? Why didn't I say something? I should have listened to my intuition and warned Liam not to give her that much.  I am sure things are not as they look.  That girl was way too smart and sneaky to be trolled around.  This place, these people... They are all a bunch of hypocrites, their gossips, their greed, and malice poison and destroy everything. I never thought they could go this far, though. Something bigger is being played right in front of our eyes, but what is it? I am afraid that in these cruel games only a few innocents will pay the price.  I have never seen Liam under this much emotional stress. He doesn't show his true feelings, but he was impatiently waiting to meet with his father and the rest of the family. He has longed for this moment for years, Liam wanted so much to leave the past behind... and now these people have destroyed all his hopes for the future.  "Liam... Are you sure you don't some time alone? I will handle everything, you don't have to..." - I wanted to somehow help him, but I couldn't even find the right words.  "Do as I say!" - Liam shouted back at me, cutting me off.  Did I forget whom I was talking with? This man was everything, but ordinary. Feelings never got into him, not even now.  "Yes" - I just nodded, and run off to do what he asked for.  "And James?"   "Yes?" - I turned towards him. He was sitting in his chair, standing firm. His massive body, a dark expression on his face, and the domination of his aura impressed me. It would have scared me if I wouldn't know him as I do.  "Never again I want you to pity me! I am Liam f*****g Anderson! I didn't come this far by crying wolf for mercy and compassion"  - he said looking at me with his pricing eyes. I felled chills going down my spine. I guess I will save my compassion for that person that would suffer the consequences of all this. However was, it will need God to save it from the rage of this man.  ..........................  Ana Maria POV  I have cried so much, my eyes are now dry. I have no more tears left. I can feel my heart pounding hard inside of me, my body feels so weak, and I can barely take a full breath.  They have put me in a small cell, which is completely dark. There is not even a window, and I am starting to lose the sense of time. I am shivering of cold and pain. That man has tortured and beaten me so hard, trying to get a confession out of me.  I have no confession to give because I am innocent! How could I even think of hurting my best friend? The one who is like a sister to me...  Sophia... I whisper her name underneath my breath. With the last power that is left in me, I start praying once again for her safety. I pray to God Almighty that she is alive and well, and soon they'll find her. She then will tell them that I would never harm her. Never!  I just know in my heart that she is not dead! She can not be dead!  ............................. Third POV  "Inspector Carson?" - a tall officer stood by the door of the small office "Yes?" - the man replied looking down at some paperwork "Did she decide to finally talk?" - he asked with an icy voice.  "No. She only prays and cries.  The girl still insists that she is innocent and has nothing to do with what has happened"  'It will need more than some prayers to get rid of me" - Carson smirked, feeling a strange sense of dark satisfaction  "Sir?  We found a body, which we believe is Sophia Anderson. We can now confirm that she is dead" "What? And you tell me now?"  - inspector Carson got up immediately, grabbing his coat.  "Not only that sir. We have the killer confession and a motive"
