26 THE GATE
The four of them had been up for hours, ever since the dream had shocked even the thought of sleep from their systems. The dream felt more real, more absolute, and all four of the companions had awoken, fearful that the throbs from their heartbeats were the harbinger of death, before the job they had vowed to complete could be done.
He who is beyond knows the Gate.
He is the Gate.
He who is at the threshold is the key of the Gate.
He was at the beginning
He will be at the end
He is now, and at all places
