Alysa began to worry; she couldn't imagine Alexia staying outside the whole night. She wondered how her sister would reach Lyon and thought they might be together.
"Mom! I found this in your room," Scar handed over an envelope to his mom. Alysa opened it and her eyes widened in shock—it was a letter from Alexia.
"To my dearest sister,
By the time you find this letter, I must have been far away from home. Yes, I'm leaving home to do what you have always wanted for yourself—revenge! You told me stories of how much you loved this man and how he repaid you with nothing but betrayal. He denied the love you both shared and even his son. Since then, you have never been the same Alysa I grew up with. You once said seeing them all in pain will bring back a smile on your lips. You are turning a new age soon, and that's what I want to give you for your birthday—revenge! Don't bother about me and listen to Lyon; he's going to take care of you and Scar. I promise to be back.
Your sister, Alexia."
Alysa dropped the letter in shock. She never expected Alexia to go to such lengths to achieve her dream and desire. "Be careful out there," Alysa sighed.
Alexia's Pov.
I grabbed my bags and left the hut. I didn't want this night with a stranger to distract me. It was my first time letting a man touch me, and I gave in to a mere stranger who identified himself as a hunter named Elias. That was the only information I had about him, yet I let him sleep with me. I blamed it on my fragile heart; I was scared after the attack and overwhelmed when he helped me. I didn't want it to hold me down. From now on, I would see whatever happened last night as a mere mistake, and my focus was on reaching the palace successfully. I looked at my left hand, which held the map, and started my journey. I was already in Moonlight Park; all I needed to do was locate the palace where I was to start working.
After hours of trekking, I found myself in the middle of nowhere. The road was busy, with kids playing, young men with nests and hunting guns, and women gathering like a small market. I realized I was at the center of the pack.
"Hello! Can you give me a minute?" I asked a young lady about my age. She stared at me before paying attention.
"Yes, how can I help you?" she replied.
"Um, please can you tell me where the palace is located?" I asked. She looked at me sassy.
"Are you new?" she eyed me, giving an attitude.
"Yes, I have to start at the palace before sunrise," I mumbled, trying to catch my breath.
"Oh, well, the palace is over that hill. Lucky for you, you don't have to walk a long way," she hinted, then walked away.
"Thank you," I blurted as she waved her hands in a way I couldn't describe as rude or nice. The hill wasn't far, and there it was—the palace.
The entrance looked tall, with fancy carvings telling stories. Inside, the ground was made of flat stones reflecting sunlight, with pretty gardens on each side. The palace itself was fancy, with tall towers and paintings on the walls depicting stories. The floors were shiny and made noise when I walked. People wore nice clothes, and the halls had fancy tapestries on the walls. There were big, hanging lights that sparkled like stars. In the middle of the palace was a special room with a really fancy chair—the throne, made of gold and precious gems.
Despite the rich and fancy look, there was tension in the air. "You must be the new maid," a voice said, and I turned to see Elias, the hunter, now adorned with beautiful robes and jewelry. Behind him were guards and maids. He was dressed like royalty, nothing like the man I saw the night before. I started to shiver, hoping it wasn't what I was thinking.
"Elias..." I stuttered.
"How dare you! This is our Alpha, and he will be referred to as Alpha Elias to you," a man corrected me, and I fell on my knees. My legs weakened, and my body started to shiver. The man I had a one-night stand with was the man I was here to destroy.
"Are you the new maid?" He asked again, and I stared at him in shock, unable to say a word.
"You have created a big mess, Alexia," I whispered to myself.
" Can't you speak!" He roared at me and I flinched,It wasn't the same Elias that I had come in contact with,This was the beast that my sister met, Although I couldn't imagine it in my head. I let the man that I had made my sworn enemy , The same man that I shared my first s*x with ,I didn't know how to feel or react, Everything was a shock to me and for a single I forgot I was standing with my mouth wide open.
The command echoed through the grand hall, and I flinched at the harshness of Elias's voice. This wasn't the same person I had encountered in the woods; this was the Alpha Elias, the one my sister had warned me about. It was hard to reconcile the two versions of him in my mind, the gentle stranger who had helped me and the imposing figure now standing before me.
The guards, recognizing Elias's tone, hustled me along, and I stumbled to keep up. It felt surreal to be led through the opulent corridors of the palace by the very man I had shared an intimate night with. My mind was a whirlwind of confusion and regret. What had I done? How could I have let myself get entangled with the Alpha, the person responsible for my sister's suffering?
As we reached the hallway, Elias turned to face me. His gaze pierced through me, but there was no flicker of recognition in his eyes. It was as if the events of the previous night had been erased from his memory. I felt a pang of disappointment, mixed with a strange sense of relief.
"Show her, her room!" he ordered, and the guard beside me nodded. The guard, a burly man with a stern expression, motioned for me to follow him. We walked in silence through a maze of lavish corridors, the grandeur of the palace only intensifying the heaviness in my heart.
Finally, we arrived at a door adorned with intricate carvings. The guard opened it, revealing a room that matched the grandeur of the rest of the palace. A large, canopied bed stood in the center, and the room was bathed in soft candlelight.
"This is your room. Don't make trouble, or you'll regret it," the guard warned, his tone leaving no room for argument. I nodded silently, still processing the surreal turn of events.
As the door closed behind me, I sank onto the edge of the bed. The reality of my situation hit me like a tidal wave. I was in the heart of the palace, face to face with the man I had vowed to destroy. My sister's dreams of revenge were now resting on my shoulders, and I couldn't afford to let emotions cloud my judgment.
One evening, as I navigated the palace corridors, Elias's harsh voice echoed from a nearby room. Curiosity got the better of me, and I hesitated outside the partially open door.
"You're useless! Can't you do anything right?" Elias bellowed at a servant, who trembled under his wrath.
"I-I'm sorry, Alpha Elias. I'll do better," the servant stammered, fear evident in their eyes.
The scene unfolded like a harsh reminder of the power dynamics at play in the palace. Elias's demeanor was ruthless, a far cry from the compassionate stranger who had once saved me. The realization hit me like a punch to the gut – I had willingly given myself to a man who reveled in cruelty.
Days melded into nights within the confines of the opulent palace, each passing moment tethering me to a reality I hadn't anticipated. The walls echoed with secrets, and the air hummed with an undercurrent of tension. Elias, the Alpha who had once been a stranger in the woods, had become an enigma I couldn't decipher.
Amid the intricacies of palace life, a sliver of hope arrived in the form of a clandestine letter. My sister, Alysa, had found a way to reach me, bypassing the vigilant eyes that monitored every movement within the palace walls. The parchment felt delicate in my hands, carrying not just the weight of words but the essence of my sister's determination.
"To my dearest sister,
I hope this letter finds you well within the palace walls, navigating the intricacies of your mission. The path you've chosen is treacherous, but remember, beneath the veneer of power, lies vulnerability.
Here are the steps you must take to bring Elias down:
Gain the trust of those closest to Elias. Forge alliances with individuals who harbor discontent or doubts about the Alpha's rule. Information is your greatest weapon.
Exploit Weakness: Every ruler has a weakness. Discover Elias's Achilles' heel – be it a secret, a person, or a hidden fear. Use this knowledge to undermine his authority discreetly.
Whisper of Rebellion: Plant the seeds of dissent among the pack members. A subtle word here, a discreet gesture there – incite murmurs of rebellion that will echo in the palace corridors.
Unearth Pack Secrets: The pack holds secrets that Elias would go to great lengths to protect. Uncover these hidden truths, for they hold the key to dismantling the foundation of his rule.
Conceal Your Intentions: Let Elias see only what he expects. Mask your true intentions beneath a facade of compliance. In the shadows, weave the tapestry of his downfall.
Remember, my dear sister, revenge is a patient art. It thrives in the shadows, growing stronger with each carefully calculated move. You have the strength within you to endure this journey.
Be cautious, be cunning, and may the moon goddess guide your steps.
With love,
Alysa"
