Adrian was having a good time with Craig. The man had a great sense of humor and was excellent at pool.
“Damn Adrian, you brought in a ringer.” Mitch waved at the waitress. “I got this round, but you guys will lose the next one and then you’re buying.” He racked the balls.
“Sorry, but I’m going to have to sit out the next game.” Craig put his stick down.
Adrian started to ask why but his words tangled in his throat as he followed Craig’s gaze. Ellie and Liz walked into the bar. They were gorgeous, both smiling and laughing. He couldn’t pull his eyes away. He’d never seen Ellie so happy and relaxed. A stab of jealousy dug into his heart. He wanted to be the one to make her that happy.
