“s**t. Don’t cry.” Adrian hated crying women. He should be used to it with six sisters, but he wasn’t. It always ripped out his heart. “I’ll buy you something else.” Only an i***t would give a woman a box of wrapping paper for Valentine’s Day. Roses and chocolates were best sellers for a reason. “I’ll throw it away right now. You’ll never have to see it again. I promise.” He reached for it.
“Don’t you dare.” Ellie clutched it to her chest.
“But...you hate it. It’s making you sad.” He was confused. This was one of those times that women didn’t make sense at all.
“I don’t hate it. I love it.”
“Then those are happy tears?” He’d never understand that concept. Ever.
