On the way home Dan asked Steve where he’d like to go for dinner. Steve suggested they pick up Chinese carry-out. He said there would be time enough to go out to eat later, after they got to know one another, and they could do that better at home. Since up until then Steve hadn’t been very forthcoming about himself or his life, Dan suspected it was that Steve wanted to continue to spend time exploring their s****l interests rather than anything else more personal. When they got home they fed the dogs and ate their sweet and sour chicken at the breakfast bar in the kitchen. After eating, they lay cuddled together on the couch.
