Chapter 8

775 Words
Elara’s POV I raised my hand and slapped her back without thinking twice. “You think I’m still that timid Ellie you used to know?” I said with full confidence, everyone on the hallway was watching, and some of them even making videos. “Ohh…you’re damn right, I think you still are” Sheila said and she moved to pull her hair but I dodged and she stumbled forward nearly falling to the ground. I grabbed her hair, and whispered in her ears for no one else to hear “Don’t test my patience, or I’ll have my triplet alphas take your head, b***h” and I threw her forward. “How dare you?” she said still wanting to come at me. “You know what’s funny,” I heard someone say and everyone turn to look at him. It was Kai. “Kai, ohh..my God” Clara said, clearly drolling for him and ignoring her friend that way in dismay, I could see admiration for him in her eyes and that made me want to pluck them out with my finger nails. “For someone with so much mouth, Sheila, you don’t seem to know when to shut it.” he said in a calm and collected tone. “She came at me first” Sheila said trying to play the victim. “I don’t care Sheila, don’t mess with Elara ever again. As you know, she is your Luna so watch it” a dark aura exuded from him as he said it and I watched everyone disperse in fear. “But…” Sheila tried to speak. “You’re not fit enough to even breathe the same air as Elara, so scram,” he added. And just like that, Sheila was finally silenced. She turned on her heel and stomped off, every other person on the hallway were obviously scared, no one is ever going to dare bully me again. “You okay?” he said, leaning into my ear, which made me shudder a bit. “Yes, I am” I nodded, heart thudding as I hurried to arrange my stuff. “You sure?” he asked again, obviously noticing my shaky hands. “Yeah..that was just unexpected,”I said looking at him briefly, I just realized how similar and identical he looked to Zayn, but there was still something that differentiated all of them, the color of their hair. “She had it coming.” Kai replied with a smile on his face. “What are you doing here, Kai” I said with a look of confusion in my face. “Why did you leave this morning without telling any of us?” Kai replied me with a question, staring at me with curious care in his eyes. “I didn’t want to disturb, I needed to clear my head anyway” I replied, not looking him straight in the eye, he reminded me of Zayn so much, that might trick my brain to be warm with him. “Do I make you so uncomfortable, Elara?” Kai said, searching for the answer in my eyes. “Yes, obviously. I grew up walking on eggshells around all of you, what do you expect?” I replied coldly and I could see the guilt in his eyes, which made me wish I didn't say something so mean. “I hope you learn to trust us” he replied. “Respect and trust is earned, Kai. And until you earn mine, I will not make a choice for as long as I can” I said without batting an eyelid. “That’s understandable“ he said, nodding gently. Then I noticed a shift in his aura, he looked at the far end of the hallway and looked back at me almost immediately. “So why are you here?” I asked again. “We need to go home, there’s been an infiltration in our lands and you’re a possible target” he said in a dark, low tone and I felt my heart beat faster. “Alright” I replied in almost a whisper nodding my head gently. We walked down the hall and outside the school, his car was parked somewhere in the parking lot. I noticed his brows furrow and his ears twitch, his aura switched to being protective. “Give me your bag” he said almost quietly. “What’s happening, Kai?” I said with fear in my eyes, knowing that he collected my bag so that whoever it is doesn’t grab it and tag my scent. “The intruders, they’re here” he replied.
