"Alright then, I guess I'll see you tomorrow." Paige said waving, waiting for me to get inside the house. As I was about to open the front door, it opened by itself, revealing Chester right in front of me. "Jesus Christ you scared me." I said. "I scared you? Gah, anyways I'm out for drinking. Do not go anywhere else, and don't wait up for me. Mom and Dad won't be home, so make yourself like you own the place. But please don't throw a party. They will kill us. Anyways there's food in the fridge. I'll be back by 3 am-ish." He babbled fast. Looks like he's on a rush. He walked pass Paige and stopped. "Why don't you two spend the night together? like throw a sleepover. Just the two of you. To keep my sister company." Paige looked at him weirdly. Yeah great going brother. As if a popular kid like Paige would have a sleepover with me. "I'll pay you." Chester insisted. "You don't have to pay me, I'll call my mother to let her know I'm sleeping here." And of course she agreed to do it. "All right, thanks kiddo. I'll treat you two for ice cream tomorrow. Promise." He waved us off and ran. "Well I guess you should come in and make yourself at home." I gave her a sarcastic smile in which she gladly smiled back.
"Want something? Anything?" Can this day just get any weirder? First, I get dragged into an alley by the most known child in the city, second, I get invited to be part of her clique along with my two best friends and now she's here, inside my home, having a sleepover with me?! I mean seriously? How can anyone deal with these much to think about? "I'm fine, and it looks like you got a lot on your plate. No pun intended." She said pointing at the dinner my brother made. "Oh do you want some? I don't recall you eating earlier. All you did in the diner was just drag me along with you." I sarcastically said. "Hey I apologize for that." She looked around the kitchen, analyzing everything. "Nice Kitchen you have. As nice as mine." She looked at me and laughed. "So? Do you want anything to eat?"
"Here, eat. Trust me, my brother is a good cook. He didn't put anything to poison you. Or me, specifically." I handed her a plate with the same steak I have with utensils. "So, now I'm basically your bodyguard from my own brother. I should at least get to know you or something."
"Okay, I was born March 10, and I'm turning 15 next month. I have an older brother whom you had just met earlier, his name is Chester. My Mom works as a Stewardess and my dad is... you know this part already." I told her and she nodded. "I'm very fond of arts and anything athletic. I studied Judo when I was 5 years old. And I have been planning on asking your permission to join your group. Of course along with my friends. I also got selected for gymnast club when I got in the school the first time. They recruited me on the spot." I babbled about myself to Paige. "There's also this guy from a different class who's asking me out." I added which Paige nodded curiously. "So what about you? I should at least get to know my so called 'bodyguard' am I right?" I told her.
