Am I going to be alright? This is Paige Baker we are talking about. The leader of the popular kids clique. I remember complimenting her once and she ignored me. What in heavens does she want from me? I bid goodbye to Al and walked towards Paige who was behind me. "What do you want? Do you need something from me?" I asked her. "Come with me would you please?" She asked. Again with this asking and chasing. We went to an alley down the street where she banged me on the wall. "Alright, listen up Andrews. My brother is into you. As you saw earlier in the diner, he was the one looking at you." She explained, words rushing out of her mouth. "And why does that concern you? I mean, you are concerned? Of whoever your older brother likes?" That is very preposterous. "Yes, and I don't want him ruining the name of the family." "Hey that's just a tad bit rude of you. So you think I? Will ruin your family's name just by your brother liking me?" I asked her. "Yes, I see that you're very quick to catch up on things." She chuckled. "Excuse you, I am daughter of a Coast Guard Captain, the first one in class with you running up in second. How dare you abscond me." I glared at her. "Alright, that sounded rude of me and I apologize for it. But in order for my brother not to get his hands on you, I am inviting you to join the popular kids." She charmed at me. "If you think you can just charm your way out from shaming on my family's name, then news flash, you're not. And I am not going to join your clique unless my friends join too." She clicked her tongue and comb back her red hair. "Fine, your friend's popularity will suffice since she's in the gymnastics. However your other friend... A very was it? Hmm I don't think-" "Then I'm not joining." I said and walked out on her, but she slammed her hands on the wall, with my head in between. "Alright fine fine. They're in. Both of them." She said making a regretful groan. We walked out of the alley, it was night time already and she blew on her hands to make it warm. "Just so you know, I didn't intentionally ignored you.... When you complimented me..." She blurted out, embarrassed. "Yeah sure, whatever you say. You ignored me too when I tried out for the cheerleading." I rolled my eyes at her. "Hey, that was one time, and I'm sorry for that." "We live in the same neighbourhood don't we?" I asked. "Huh? Oh yeah, we kinda do." She said typing away on her phone. Kinda? Guess she never really knew that we were in the same neighbourhood. "Hey, so does this mean that we're friends?" She was still typing, not even giving a damn about her surroundings. "Sure, whatever you call it darling." Of course, what did I expect from her. I took a glimpse of her and didn't realize that there was a lamppost in front of me. "Holy s**t are you okay?" She asked concerned. "Well aren't you a little over reacting. It was just a pole." I laughed it off. "Then be careful. Don't want you to ruin that pretty face of yours, haha." She softly chuckled. What was that supposed to mean? A weird flirt? "Oh no, don't get me wrong, my brother would go near you if you got hurt in any sort of ways."
