Claire watched as Micheal left the church after fellowship without giving a glance towards her. She knew he was probably ignoring her but she didn't want to ignore him and couldn't well she wouldn't let him leave like that.
She ran up to him, she wasn't sure on what she was going to say so she decided to say the first thing that came to mind .
From what she had heard about him and why he was back, she knew he was one of those deliquents - as her church members liked to call them - who the pastor coordinating the youths department, Pastor jude liked to help in his words he was drawing the lost children back to the lord.
She tapped him on the shoulder and said " Hey, I am Claire. " Extending an arm forward even though she was certain he knew her name.
He stared at her hand, the look in his eyes were enough to discourage anyone from saying anything else but she wasn't giving up.
" Okay even though that was rude I'll continue." She said looking at him besides she was never the shy type or one to turn away after a mean look.
" As weird as this sounds am your angel." She lied. " Pastor jude involved you in the Angel's project and I am your angel to guide you towards the right path as cheesy as it sounds."
The Angel's project was a real thing at church before an angel was wrongly influenced by her project and things went down hill from there.
Micheal on the other hand, couldn't understand what he was hearing from his one time best friend. He didn't know if this was proof that she had become like the environment she lived in or she still had the same personality.
She was talking to him even though he was certain she had already been warned against it and when she called him rude he knew she was as straight forward as always but he also knew it was best she kept her distance.
"First of all, I don't care what people think of me and secondly I don't do projects." Michael said in an icy tone.
" Oh here's the thing, it doesn't matter if you care or not, the truth has to be said and you are not doing a project, you are the project so I guess I'll see you tomorrow at school." Claire said with an a smile since he decided to treat her like a total stranger, she had no intention of being nice with her lie.
" Pastor jude said nothing about this" Micheal said a bit offended that he was called a project.
" He wasn't meant to this is between you and me like it had always been with past projects." She said
" Isn't it bad to refer to people as projects. I mean you people claim to be holy and all"-
" I wasn't referring to people." She interrupted him. " See you tomorrow ." She added as she turned around to leave and Micheal watched her thinking about what he was and what he had become, the difference between them vast.
Micheal returned home with only one thing in mind, Claire. He had thought about her very often after he moved away and as his once peaceful and serene life became the hell he was living in.
Claire was happy her sisters didn't see her talking to Micheal, the last thing she needed was to be the topic of family dinner again and she planned to keep it that way.
She was hurt that Micheal had acted like he didn't recognize her or even remember her after she had said her name.
He probably had his reasons. She told her self and planned to figure it out.
