While my mind was still wandering over the last conversation I had with Alexandra two hours ago, my phone started ringing.
When I looked, I saw it was a call from my Lieutenant.
‘Colonel,’ greeted the voice on the other end.
‘What is it, Lieutenant?’ I asked firmly.
‘We have a mission, we'll leave at 1200, we'll wait for you at the base. We've sent an encrypted message to your email with the operation details.’ I muttered a curse under my breath; just when everything with Alexandra was getting worse, this had to happen.
‘Alright, see you at the base, Lieutenant,’ I hung up and started the car towards the house.
When I arrived, I saw all the women seated at the dining table. They turned towards the door when they heard it open.
I approached Alex and asked her to come upstairs
