SURVIVOR(saging through the Strom)

1324 Words
"Wow, I'm such an overboiled potato," Laura said with a pained tone, confronting her reality as pain washed over her. "It’s so depressing... it’s so depressing." Slowly, she stood up from the floor and made her way downstairs, only to find her aunt's husband seated on their couch. Her steps halted, a sense of fear gripping her as she stared blankly at his imposing figure. Her heart urged her to turn back, but her body wouldn’t move. Confusion clouded her mind while an internal battle raged on. "Is that how your mother taught you to treat your elders? Don’t you think you want to come right here, right now?" That deep and arrogant voice, so deadly yet still, never revealing the danger it holds..like the blaring sound of bells she could never forget cause it echoes in her memory. It was smooth and enticing, yet the truth behind it was sinister. That voice had caused her so much harm, leaving her struggling to piece herself back together again. “God... if you exist, please save me now.” __Laura muttered to herself before going down the stairs. The handsome yet demonic man, the man that disgusts her so much, sat down there staring at her like she was some food or something. Her heart skipped a bit as she came into contact with his dark and cruel eyes....she immediately lowered her head and pulled away from him. "Aunt didn't say anything about you coming home, I would have prepared you something beforehand. I dunno but is there something you'll like to eat?"___Immediately she asked that question, she knew she made a mistake cause obviously this demon has always been seeking to devour her to which she'd rather die than allow. Mr. Russell's eyes grew darker as he rummaged her appearance all over and this made Laura uncomfortable. "I meant food...what food would you like to eat?"__ She inquired again but this time she stressed more on her words. Mr. Russell raised his eyes to stare into her eyes and a small sly smile crept up his lips making him look so innocent on the surface yet when keenly observed, like an eruption about to happen. 'This is trouble brewing'__Laura's heart was already threatening to jump out of its space and being a smart one, she stepped back and looked away. She knows better than keeping eye contact with this demonic man her aunt married. "Nothing for now."___His deep voice penetrated the walls reverberating through the whole room and the temperature suddenly dropped making Laura shiver unconsciously. "I'll be out for a while sir. I'd make sure to get back early enough."___It's a known thing that her aunt never let her have anything doing with her husband and so she doesn't have to prepare dinner tonight or take care of the kids. Her aunt would love to appear dutiful before her husband for recognition.... 'She sure knows how to play her games but maybe not too well.'___Laura thought in her mind before looking to the man for his response. Mr. Russell stared at her for a while before looking away and smirking. He looked to be thinking about something as if knowing something but deciding to keep quiet about it. He continued what he was doing earlier. His bone-crushing voice was the only thing heard after. "Sure." Laura didn't wait for anymore word before running back to her room to pick up her back. She has no destination in mind but one thing is sure.... "I'd never stay alone with that man in a house.... never. What a family of lies and bullies!"__Laura made a disgusted face as she spoke about the family. Her life would be different if her dad and brother were still alive but as life would give it....putting up with dirt is now her hope to survival. ************†***************†************ A young girl is seen running out of a supermarket with so great a smile on her face. She looked like one who had done a mischievous thing and is in search for a place to glory in their doings. Being unfamiliar with the environment she didn't know where to go but for the fear of being found out, she ran down an alley five meters away from the supermarket (it might be difficult to find her way back though... baby's gone too far😬). She stopped immediately she realized she was in an unfamiliar environment and it was dim in there. Her senses so heightened sent signals and her eyes widened as she remembered that her mom was still in the supermarket waiting for her to show up at the ballroom. "I'm so dead today. I'mma make mama worry again. That devil😭, will he tell mama.....(her eyes widened more at the mention of this)....he better not risk his life, he better not." AUTHOR'S NOTE: Yunno when a person knows that they're in trouble but still try to act all strong, on top and as if having everything under control.... that's exactly what our baby's doing now. Someone please tell her it doesn't work that way😄...baby girl.....stop dreaming. She got so engrossed thinking that she failed to realize the presence of new people in the alley with her. Slowly yet in calculated steps, the alley visitors moved closer to her. Some had batons with them while the others held darts, tasers and stun guns. They were obviously small boys who only sought for livelihood and self-defense regardless of the circumstances. They have no evil intention but they would use all they've got to keep themselves save and seeing a strange face who seemed to be scrutinizing the area, they'd never take a chance. "The mother must be nearby. If she gets out of here with any discovery, this place will be raided for sure and our shelter will be gone."__One of the. who seemed to be the oldest whispered to his colleagues as they drew near. He seemed to be so strict and nonchalant about anyone other than himself and his people...therefore anyone goes. He appears radical. "Your judgement are always true....we should take her down and dump her in the bin 3meters away from here or rather in the uncompleted building 10steps away from here. We must be calculative and discreet about it to avoid being seen."___This said another who seemed to be the right hand man of the first boy. "YES!"__They all agreed in silence and continued their advancement towards the girl that was still too lost in thought to perceive any change in the atmosphere. WHEREAS......... "Did you see a young girl about 5years old run through here?" "No ma'am....I saw no girl." Agnetha couldn't believe her ears...she had gone to every section in this supermarket in search of Alessia but she keeps hearing the same thing. How could a little girl have disappeared and no one saw her...HOW? for goodness sake HOW? Fear gripped her heart for the thought of loosing her daughter but more was anger towards the staffs and the receptionist present. "isn't this supposed to be a mart with high-end CCTVs and educated employees? I know professionals keep the integrity of their profession and never undermine the need to diligently take up their roles. Is it now about the money only...what about the business? You telling me my baby vanished or maybe developed invisibility and escaped unseen? Is that what you're telling me right now?" ___Being attacked directly with her incompetency pointed out blatantly, the receptionist was so embarrassed that she had to lower her head cause a crowd was starting to buildup not even when the voice of the crying mother goes so loud. She felt so bad and wanting to disappear but she's in it already. SIDE NOTE: Trust me, no one should go through the traumatic scenes with Agnetha.... it's really explosive 🔥. Someone please tell Miss Agnetha to go easy on our poor receptionist... she's about to tear out😹😹😹😹😹😂😂😂
