"Hey you little thief! Get back here!" I turned around to see the restaurant owner gaining up on me. I couldn't let him catch me or I wouldn't eat tonight. I ducked in the alley, I was tiny so I could fit under the dumpster. I held my breath when I saw his feet walking past. Please please keep going.

“s**t!" He cursed.

I waited 5 minutes then crawled from under the space. I turned and ran the opposite way. I went to the empty warehouse where most of the homeless people in this area lived, yes I'm 17 & homeless. I wasn't always homeless, you see, my father is an Alpha and my mom is human. I didn't shift when I was supposed to and being the only child that was bad because I couldn't take over my dads pack as Alpha. He always hated me for not being a boy, that was strike 1. Not shifting was strike 2, and strike 3 was not going along with his plan. He and another Alpha made a treaty. I was to mate with his son and the packs would merge making them the 2nd strongest pack. I wasn't going to be forced into a mating especially with an abusive stuck up prick. Yeah I met my 'future mate', our family had dinner 2 times together to get everything ready.

Flashback

“Honey why don't you take Jason and show him around." My mother suggested.

“OK follow me." This was the second time we met and I was still nervous around him. I showed him the pool, the garden, and the gym.

“And here is the media room, do you want to watch a movie?"

“Sure." He said. We walked to the collection and riffled through the DVD's until we found one that we liked.

“I'll go get us snacks." He said while standing up.

“No I can do that."

"No no its fine.“ He said leaving the room. He came back with pop corn and soda. We sat on the sofa and started to watch the movie. I wasn't much of a talker so we sat there in silence for a while.

“Did you do what I asked?" I looked at him confused, he didn't ask me to do anything.

“Did you a get a female tutor?"

“N-No. I tried but my dad wouldn't let me, he said that since I'm doing so good there is no need to switch tutors." I said nervously. He gritted his teeth. Oh no he's going to hit me again. I began to panic. He closed his eyes and took a couple of deep breaths.

“I'll talk to your dad myself." I sighed in relief.

“So future wife how about a kiss." I blushed.

“I've never been kissed before, and not to be rude but I don't want to marry you I'm saving myself for my mate."

He chuckled. “I am your mate. Now," He lifted me up and sat me on his lap facing him. “Kiss me."

“No." I shook my head.

“Are you saying no to me?" His whole mood changed.

“Yes, I don't want to kiss you."

“Too bad." He grabbed my hair and kissed me so hard my lips were swollen. He started to run his hands up my skirt and I started to cry.

“Don't do this."

“Shut up!" He put one arm around my back and used the other hand to undo his belt. Oh god he's going to rape me. I started to struggle but I wasn't a match for a future Alpha. Sure I had alpha blood but I'm half human. We heard my mom calling my name. He pushed me off of him and fixed his pants.

“You don't say a word." He growled and I nodded my head.

“Oh... And don't worry you wont be pure for long mate." I gulped and looked the other way.

“Honey are you OK?"

“Yes I'm fine mom."

“Oh honey your sad because Jason's leaving. Don't worry he'll be back tomorrow." She giggled.

"Yeah, I’ll be back tomorrow. May I kiss her goodnight?"

“Sure, say your goodbyes your parents are waiting."

He kissed my cheek. “Tomorrow we'll be doing more than kissing." After everything was cleaned up I went to talk to my parents. There has to be a way to get out of this.

“Dad."

“Yeah?"

“Can I talk to you?"

"What is it?"

“I don't want to marry Jason he's a creepy pervert."

“I don't believe that honey he's a nice boy." My mom said.

“He's not mom he tried to rape me tonight." I cried.

“Stop lying you worthless b*tch!" My dad yelled.

"You will marry him whether you want to or not, I wont let you screw this up for me."

“Honey calm down. Maybe we should reconsider this she's terrified look at her."

“I don't care, get out of my face." I turned and ran to my room. That night I cried myself to sleep. I was going to be raped tomorrow and there was nothing that I could do about it.

“Misty its time for breakfast." My mom yelled.

I went and fixed myself the best that I could. I had bags under my eyes and my face was puffy from crying. I got dressed and went downstairs for breakfast.

“Jason and his parents will be here at 7pm sharp. You better be down here on time and dressed."

“OK." I said weakly, there was no fighting this. We ate breakfast and I went to get my bag.

“Come on honey I'll drive you to school."

"Misty."

“Yes?"

“Listen, I believe what you said, you're my daughter I'll always be on your side. I know what its like to be forced into a relationship. Sure I love your dad but I don't have freedom. I have to go along with whatever he says because he's the Alpha, I don't want that for you."

She reached in the backseat and gave me a back pack. “I wont let you be raped or forced into a relationship where you will be controlled for the rest of your life. I couldn't get much but there's a couple thousand in there. You go far away from here, make something of yourself. Be happy and live for the both of us." She said through tears. “I'll miss you baby."

“Thank you. I'll miss you too mom and I love you."

“I love you too, be careful." We hugged each other then I got out of the car.

I had to come to school to take some tests, after I took them I waited until lunch then ran. I paid someone to buy me a ticket in case my dad would come to the airport. I landed and found a cheap motel that didn't mind renting to an underage girl. I then dyed my black hair blonde and changed my blue eyes to green. I bought a prepaid cell phone and called my mom.

“Mom I'm fine."

"Thank god! Where did you end up goi-"

“Is that her? Is that that b*tch? Give me the phone!" He yelled.

“Misty you get your ass back home now. If I have to I will bring you back kicking & screaming! Where are you?"

“I-Im sorry daddy I just coul-"

“Where. Are. You?"

“I love you dad. I just can't come back home, tell mom I love her." I said before hanging up. I let out a shaky breath, I guess I'm on my own.

This was harder than I thought, no one would give me a job because I had no experience and no references. I was smart enough to know that if I put anyone from my old pack down they would ask the hiring manager questions. But I didn't give up I kept trying, eventually my money ran out and I couldn't live at the hotel anymore. The manager propositioned me but I would not go for it. Months later I found myself on the streets with no money. I did however stay at the homeless shelter 2 or 3 a nights a week. Sometimes there would be women coming with their kids. I couldn't let them sleep out on the streets so I would just offer them my bed and leave.

Flashback over

That was 2 years ago. I went to my section of the floor and ate half of my sandwich and water. I gave the rest to lady that was sitting beside me.

“Thank you. Bless your heart Misty I pray that one day you will get yourself together, meet a nice fellow and have a big family."

I smiled at her. Mrs Keaton was a nice older lady. Her husband was an abusive man who stole all of her money and ran leaving Mrs Keaton to deal with the after math. She couldn't afford to pay her bills and got thrown out. I sat back and sighed, maybe I should just go home, anything would be better than this. I could take a few punches and be raped. I guess that would be better than sleeping in a cold empty warehouse. Mrs Keaton started to cough. She was coming down with a cold, I felt sorry for her she was a sweet lady.

“Mrs Keaton I'm going to get you some cough syrup." My voice came out low and horse because I never talked unless I had to.

“No. I don't want you getting in trouble, I will be OK."

I waited until she fell asleep and left. I went to a 24 hour drug store. I had a dollar and some change but I knew it wasn't enough. I picked up the bottle and went to the back of the store, I then stuffed it in my pocket and started to leave but I was spotted by a worker.

“Hey! Hey I saw you."

Crap! I ran towards the exit but was knocked back by running into someone.

“Mate." The guy whispered. My eyes widened. Oh no, I didn't want this.
