Chapter 3

It was in 9th grade when she had met Arun. He was an 11th grader and was the high school handsome. Every girl had a crush on him and Kavya was also a fangirl. He was in the School's football team and for every game, the ratio of girls was higher than guys. Guys were always jealous of Arun.

Kavya was at her house studying for an exam when Gautham had brought his friends with him.

"Kavya? come get the tea." Her mom shouted from downstairs.

"one min, ma," she said as she picked up her notes and read them as she walked downstairs.

She was so busy reading her notes that she didn't realize what was happening and she ended up bumping into a rock. A rock? She looked up to find Arun in her house.

Her eyes widen as he opened his mouth to talk.

"sorry," he said.

"No, it was actually my fault... I came crashing into you. sorry," she said as he scratched his head.

"And Arun, Have I told you my sister loves football? and she lives in dreamland with the captain." Gautham said as Arun smirked and Kavya glared at Gautham.

"Oh really? That's Arun." Anand said.

"Anyways... I am Anand," he told Kavya.

"Kavya." She said as Arun smiled at her.

"I am Aravind." said the other guy standing quietly.

Kavya realized how Arun's eyes were on her as the guys were watching a movie together.

"Ok, I need to leave," she said feeling awkward but she also needed to study for her exam.

Soon the guys got tired of watching a movie and went into Gautham's room. They were busy in their guy talk as Kavya opened the door and came inside.

"By the way Arun, My sister is not the correct one for you cause she doesn't got any manners," Gautham said as he hit her ego.

She went back shutting the door with a thud which made Gautham laugh.

"Actually bro, She is your sister and has every right to enter her brother's room without permission. and Kavya you can come in now," he said as the doors opened again.

"I don't need anybody's permission," she said as she went to grab the stapler and raced out.

"haha." they all laughed.

Arun had seen her the first time when she was coming with Gautham and had fallen in love with her at first sight. Gautham explained how she was his sister. Soon he had followed her around and even realized how she was a fan of his. He found her in the first row of every one of his games.

He never had the guts to go talk to her but now that he has talked to her, he wanted to tell her about how he feels about her.

Soon the other guys left but Arun stayed along with Gautham.

"Bro, It's not even scary. I trust you a lot so that's why I am ok with you in love with my sister. If you tell her, she will do 1 of 2 things. either slap you with her slippers or...she will accept you and come hug you. I feel like the second one is gonna happen but bro...dont you think y' all are too young. She won't run away right?" Gautham said.

"Ya. You are right." Arun said.

Soon days passed into years and Gautham and Arun had graduated and went to college. Kavya was in her last year of high school. she was 17 and the guys were 19.

Kavya was missing Arun a lot. She never thought she was actually in love with him. They had only talked to each other just a few times and they were only smiling in the hallway a few times. But without him, these 2 years were nuts.

It was the weekends and Gautham had gone to meet his friends. She knew Arun was one of them. She ones heard Gautham talking to Arun on the phone. She even got his phone number secretly from her brother's phone but never had the guts to call him.

Her Dad was at work and her mom was away to a relative's house and Gautham was with his friends. She didn't feel anything until it got dark. She felt weird to be home alone. Sure she had done that before but today seemed to be different.

Instead of disturbing her parents, she called her brother. When he didn't pick up, She got annoyed. After a few tries, He picked up.

"Hello, Anna? I don't know why but I am kinda scared to stay home alone. Please come fast and please don't take all night." Kavya was saying as the call ended.

She was surprised that he didn't answer so she got her laptop out and started watching a movie to kill the time.

Even that was annoying so she picked up her phone and opened up Arun's contact. SHe saved a pic of him that she had cropped out from. She had a thing for hacking her brother's phone just to get Arun's picture. She was looking at it as suddenly a knock was heard.

She looked up and started walking near the door with the phone in her hand.

"Hey, Darling." A voice said. It was familiar but she wasn't able to understand who it was.

"Who are you? and...What are you doing outside my house?" she asked.

"I am Aravind. Gautham's friend. Do you not remember me Kavya?" he asked.

"Oh...is Anna here?" She asked.

"Ya, his bike broke down so he is coming. open the door," he said as she opened the door.

"Um...come in," she said as she looked to see if Gautham was coming.

Suddenly he pulled her inside the house as her hands slipped and a call rang on her phone.

"hey...Stop. What are you doing?" She asked.

"Since you called saying you were alone, I came to give you company." He said.

"but I called Gautham," she said.

"but I answered sweety." He said coming closer to her.

"Oh. Where is Gautham?" she asked trying to act casually.

"Oh...He isn't here," he said.

"Ok, then... it's ok. you can leave." She said as she pulled her hands.

"Anna..please let go of my hand," she said addressing him as a brother. Her tone changed into a frightened one.

"Anna? no no...Please call me Baby or..." he started as she slapped his hands away and ran.

"how dare you?" he shouted behind her as she ran to her phone which was on the ground.

She noticed how someone was on the line, she moved away from her phone before he could see it. He suddenly pushed her to the wall as she screamed in pain.

"Why can't you girl like a guy like me? Why is always Arun? What does he have that I don't?" He asked as he leaned into her.

"You...he likes you. He took all the girls I like away from me and not I take the only girl he likes away from him." He said as his lips were inches away from her.

She felt happy to hear that Arun loved her out of any girl that would come throw themselves on him, but was scared of this guy who was going to ruin her first kiss.

Suddenly Someone kicked Aravind onto the floor and Kavya looked at who had come to her rescue. he looks different than he used to.

His teenage qualities are disappearing into a man's. he had a slight beard and a mustache now. He was taller than he already was and he seems to have worked out a lot.

Kavya was admiring Arun as he noticed it but hit Aravind badly to get him wounded on the ground.

She suddenly ran to him and hugged him. They stood like that until Gautham came in. Gautham already knew they liked each other.

"Machi...Thanks, da... if it wasn't for you." Gautham said as Arun moved away from Kavya.

"No need to thank me. Kavya called me." He said as her face turned red.

"How do you have his number?" Gautham asked as she blushed.

He picked up her phone as she tried to grab it back. One he saw the pic in the contacts he burst out laughing.

"Look at what my smart sister has done. She had cropped me out of the pic and...how the hell does you...oh so she had stole my phone and basically saved all of your pics on her phone." Gautham said as Kavya pulled her phone and ran to her room in embarrassment.

Soon the police came and arrested Aravind and Kavya sat in the living room as the guys were talking to each other in the dining room table.

suddenly, She noticed someone sit next to her.

"So Kavya, How is it going?" he asked.

"Um...Well..." she started as he stared into her eyes. She noticed how his voice has also matured.

"I....I...It's going fine. You?" she asked.

"College... it's nice. Gautham and I planned to become Cops so we are gonna finish this 4 years and then get into training. You know about it right?" He asked.

"Ya Gautham said he was gonna do it but I didn't know you were," she said.

"What's your plan?" he asked.

"Journalism. I am going to study Journalism and then become a reporter. I wanna work in BBC." she said.

"Good luck on that," he said as she smiled.

"Hey, I leave you for one sec and you are here flirting with my sister. You should stop flirting with girls. You don't like them but you don't want them to fall for you. You know what happened with Swetha right? that girl tried to commit suicide." Gautham said to see if his sister has any reaction to it.

She looked at Arun who looked hopelessly at her and she walked away with nothing to say.

"why would you..." he started.

"Bro, she is yours and you know it. I was messing with her. "Gautham reassured him.
