Devon’s POV Tara has been in a surprisingly good mood the last few days, and with each obstacle that the council of elders puts before her, the happier she seems to become, especially when we are all alone. It seems as if she actually welcomes the road blocks that the council keeps trying to put in her way. Once we get back to her rooms after we part from Max, she actually begins laughing. “What’s so funny?” I ask, concerned that maybe she has gone a bit crazy under all the stress she’s been under recently. “I’ll tell you,” Tara says very quietly. “But not in here! This room is bugged.” I’m not exactly surprised that the room might contain hidden surveillance equipment, but I am surprised to hear that she actually knows about it.
