Meeting Rowan

Zara's POV

“ Speak of the she devil” I said, picking up the call.

“Zara” Sophia said, almost screaming on the phone.

“ You know this is the third time you are Calling me today Sophia “ I continued

“ Are you counting it?” She said laughing at the other end.

“ Of course I am,” I answered jokingly.

“ Well, I just wanted to make sure you forget, because I don't want to hear excuses of how busy you were,” she continued.

“ No worries,I'll come” I answered, even if I was still undecided.

“Thank you” she said, hanging up.

She wouldn't even allow me breathe, I said dropping my phone and smiling to myself.

“ Is she that excited to get married?”I asked myself.

Sitting quietly at a corner table I watched as the bride and groom danced.

“ She's finally married” I thought to myself. It wasn't long that a voice interrupted my thoughts bringing me back to the present.

“ Hi beautiful” the voice said

Turning to see who it was..

“ My name is Rowan,”he said, smiling.

Still staring at him..

“ I am Zara” I managed to answer.

Rowan was a fair tall guy,with a straight nose, chiseled jawline,bright piercing blue eyes, white teeths, full lips, broad shoulders,toned muscles,and well groomed hair also with a personal fashion style.

“ It's nice meeting you,I saw you from afar and noticed you were sitting alone,” he continued.

“Yea..uhm I was about leaving” I replied

“ Here he said,” stretching out his card to me.

I collected the card smiling

“ Look who we have here, I see you made it” a familiar voice interrupted

“ You wouldn't allow me to rest,” I said, turning to Sophia.

“ Congratulations I'm happy for you” I continued

“ Don't worry,you are next”she said jokingly while leaning in for a hug.

“ Thank you for coming,”she said, pulling away.

“ You are welcome, i sent you a gift,do well to check it later okay? I have to go now, Congratulations,the gown looks good on you” I said walking away.

“ But it would look better on you, you know right?” She said laughing .

I got into my Rolls Royce,and pulled out the card Rowan had given to me previously.

“ Oh, I see ,he is a lawyer at a JAYs firm” which was one of the biggest firm at Yaren, I scanned though the card and saw his number at the lower end of the card, hesitating if I should put a call through or not, I dropped the card back in my bag.

“ Drop me at the salon,my hair needs a retouch” I told my driver.

“ Thank you,I'll put a call through when I'm done” I said getting out of the car.

Looking at my wristwatch, it was past two pm.

“ Let's get this done on time” I muttered to myself while going into the VIP room.

Coming out after being done, I am trying to get through to my driver,but his number isn't going through, so I decided to take a taxi home since it was getting late,and I needed to rest. Surprised to see a car packed right in front of me and a familiar figure came out of it.

“ We meet again” he said

“ Rowan?Are you stalking me? What are you doing around here?”i asked him

“ Stalk you”? Why will I do that? I was just on my way home and I saw someone who looked familiar, so I stopped to see . I realized it was you, what a coincidence or should I call it fate?”

“ Fate indeed”I replied obviously blushing.

“ What are you doing around here?”he asked.

“ I was waiting for a taxi, to take me home” I answered

“ Oh ..wow.. I can actually drop you off, if you don't mind “ he requested while smiling.

His smile gave me butterflies, and sent electric chill all over my body.

“ Yea, sure” I said, following him as he led me to the car.

“ Well…are you going to continue staring at me or you are going to say what's on your mind?”his voice jolted me back to the present.

“ Uhm ..oh, it's nothing, I was just admiring your fingers“ I said without thinking.

“ Well.. I have been thinking,and I don't know if it's too early to say this, but since it's just past seven pm, hmmm..can I buy you dinner?” He asked.

“ Yea, Sure,I'm hungry”I replied smiling.

I don't know why I felt so comfortable around him,I also can't believe I stupidly agreed .

Rowan stopped at a restaurant, coming out of the car first, he opened the door for me,pulled a chair for me to sit,and he also made an order for us,he was so romantic.

“ I ordered pasta, and I thought you would prefer fruit juice to wine,” he said.

“ Anything is fine with me”I answered.

“ I hope you like the place” he continued

“ Uhm… yea, it's nice “ I replied

It was a quiet,cool rooftop restaurant with a sunset view.

“ I guess the sunset makes you more beautiful, “ he said.

“ Thanks for today” I said getting out in front of the mansion.

“ The pleasure is mine, Goodnight beautiful” he smiled and zoomed off.

I entered to take a bath,after putting on my pajamas,I felt I should text him because I have been thinking about him and blushing all the time.

I picked up my phone and texted the number on the card, and almost immediately a message popped up on my phone.

“ Ooh..Zara,I forgot to ask for your number, I guess I was too excited,thank God you messaged” it read.

“ Ooh,right I see, I just wanted to thank you for today” I texted

“ Then,I guess we can do this again right?”I read.

“ Maybe, I'll think about it “ I replied

“ Take your time okay” he texted with lots of love emoji.

I was feeling so excited as I fell to my bed, tossing happily.

It's been four months, and Rowan has been showering me with love and affection,he took me to beaches, restaurants, art galleries, movie theaters and cinemas.

My phone rang and picking it up almost immediately

“ Hello baby, I have a reservation for us tonight by seven thirty pm I'll come pick you up okay?” he said sweetly.

“ Cancel all my meetings and appointments for seven downwards” I told my secretary.

I felt so eager as I waited for seven thirty,I quickly got changed,and was waiting for him when my phone rang.

“ I'm outside” he said

“ I'm on my way” I replied getting out of my room.

It was the first restaurant we both had come to four months ago,it was quite familiar, but surprisingly it was just the both of us,

“ You remember this place right?”he asked

“ Yes I remember,this was the first place we ate together, but I can't see anyone here” I answered

“ That's because I rented it for the night” he said

“ You look beautiful tonight” he whispered

“ Thank you baby” I said grinning as I ate.

He was awkwardly silent, during the meal,and I was worried because Rowan was more of a sweet talker even during meals.

“ Are you okay?I asked curiously

“ Yea, I'm fine “ he answered

“ But you don't look fine to me? is anything bothering you?I continued

“Well..uhm..Zara, I Love you, you are the best thing that has ever happened to me,I don't want to lose you,I can't live without you,I want you to be by my side forever”he said while getting on his knees.

“ Will you marry me and make me the happiest man on earth?, I know I'm only a lawyer,but I promise never to make you cry” he continued as he brought out a diamond ring.

“ Yes, Rowan, I will marry you” I said, stretching out my hand,as tears dropped down my eyes, I was really happy, he finally popped the question, standing up, he hugged and Kissed me.

My grandfather was so happy, hearing that I am getting married, he made sure we rushed the process and I got married to Rowan two weeks after.

Rowan moved from the law firm where he worked to my grandfather's company because my grandfather was persistent that he should work somewhere larger.

Coming out of the shower,with my towel on, it's been a year already and everything still seems like a dream..

“ Morning baby” Rowan said, walking to where I stood

“ Morning” I said

“ You don't need this you know” he said pulling my towel away, making me stand naked, while he pulled off his shorts.

“ Not this morning baby, we had s*x last night” I said bending to pick up my towel off the floor.

“ I can't seem to get enough of you” he said grabbing my waist quickly so I couldn't get up.

“ Just give me 10 minutes okay, I won't be long” he continued pinning my knees to the ground and thrusting in.

“ Ouch, Rowan “ I moaned

“Yes baby,call my name” he said, kissing me as he thrusted him faster and harder.

It felt so good,I didn't want him to stop, I decided to change position by wrapping my legs around his waist.

“ Yes baby” he groaned loudly as he pulled out.

Rowan has being like this for a year,he's so passionate about having s*x.

“ Congratulations,you are four weeks pregnant” the doctor said

“ What?” I said staring at Rowan who was beaming with smiles.

“Thank you Doc.”he replied

“ You need alot of rest, and I won't advice you to do heavy tasks, Congratulations” she continued.

Rowan had gone out and I was left alone in the house because my grandfather didn't allow me come to work neither did Rowan allow me do anything, I decided to take a coldbath,it was a sunny afternoon, I used the bathtub and took my bath, I was dripping of water,I couldn't find my towel,I got out of the bathtub,but slipped landing on the floor with my tummy, I lost consciousness.

Opened my eyes,and saw Rowan besides me on the bed.

“ What happened?, how did I get here, where am I?”i asked.

“ I found you unconscious on the floor so I brought you to the hospital “.he said

“ I'm sorry,she lost the baby,but she still needs to rest” the Doctors voice interrupted us.

My head spinned to hearing what was said,my heart ached, Rowan got up immediately and left .

It's been six months after the miscarriage, Rowan seemed to be far from me, he hasn't been the sweet man I knew, he blamed me for losing our child, he has not been coming home either, I began suspecting him for cheating.

“ What?”i shouted

I entered the room, seeing clothes scattered around the room, accompanied by soft moans, I saw Rowan on a lady, having s*x in our bedroom, I couldn't believe what I just saw, I can't believe Rowan could do that to me, I suspected him of cheating but not in our bedroom.

“ Impossible..that cannot be him,” I muttered, it was driving me crazy.

Going back into the bedroom to confront him, the lady quickly covered herself up and rushed out. Rowan did not even show a sign of remorse.

“Rowan,I will wait for you in the living room”. I finally managed to croak, trying so hard not to cry. I wish it was all a dream, a bad dream,that would go away.

“ In our bedroom?I shouted immediately as he came to the living room.

“ I don't know why it matters, do I have to explain anything?” he fired back at me.

“ What?” I asked shocked

“ Hadn't you been so careless,we wouldn't have lost a baby” he continued

“ If that's what you think,then why are you still in this marriage? I asked, screaming.

“It's because I pity you, no man will marry you, I'm still here out of pity” he replied.

I cannot be mistaken,I heard it right, I stood there glued and frozen.

“ Let's get a divorce,I'm tired of all this“ I finally said, pushing him away.

“ What?that's a perfect idea” I heard him say.
