After their lengthy trip to town that morning, Lucian had informed Paige that he’d be spending most of the day on performance reviews with Gamma Nikolai. Paige leaned on the bedpost of a random room on the first floor, repeatedly spinning the feather duster in her hand as Lacey removed a set of dirty sheets from the bed behind her. “The man is ridiculous…” Paige sighed before glancing back at the girl. Lacey raised a skeptical brow before signing a response. ‘You got a marriage proposal from your mate… poor you…’ Paige rolled her eyes in response. Lacey had gotten a lot more spunky since she'd grown comfortable in Paige's presence. “We were in the middle of breakfast, for gods' sake… and in between waffles and coffee he just up and demands I marry him?” Her eyes narrowed then.
