Go to the neighborhood hospital. In room six, there's a sick old man. Kill him. If you can kill him, he's not your father. If you can't kill him, he is! Before your mother, Henri, died, she always made me doubt you were my son. If you don't, turn the page and the man will kill you. He'll be discharged from the hospital tomorrow. You didn't look for the papers yesterday, you slept through it, and you saw the note today. Don't let me keep some of your private matters from you.
Arion at the Hospital
Arion leaves his father Damon's room, clutching the second page of the book. He appears lost in thought and in a bad mood. He heads towards the stairs, descends them, and walks to the front door. He opens it, goes outside, and closes the door behind him. He gets into his car, starts the engine, and drives off into the night. He arrives at the hospital, gets out, and heads to the entrance. He enters the hospital, looks at the room numbers, and reaches room six. He opens the door and enters, closing it carefully. The bed is in the middle of the room, which is dark except for a dim light from the window and the illumination of medical equipment. Medical wires and needles are connected to the patient's body.
Arion stops and stares at the man. He says,
Arion:
Are you my father? What's your name?
Arion pauses, then stares at the man again. He says,
Arion:
I didn't feel like you were my father. Arion approaches the man. The man is under medical equipment and is barely breathing. Arion removed the machines from the man's body; the needles from his hand, blood trickled from it; the breathing tube from his nose; the man choked and writhed in bed; he opened his eyes and stared at Arion; the man tried to get up from the bed; Arion pushed him back; the man's body lay still on the bed; he seemed to be suffocating, fighting for his life; Arion went to the door of the room; he opened it cautiously; Arion heard the cat meowing behind the room's window; Arion stopped and looked behind him towards the window of the room; he stared outside for a moment; he turned and left the room; he closed the door; the man on the bed took his last breaths, his soul left his body, and he lay dead;
Arion walked down the hospital corridor. The lighting was dim and the corridor was empty; one of the doctors appeared walking at the beginning of the corridor; Arion didn't pay attention to her presence; he continued walking to the hospital exit; he left the hospital and went to his car; he sat behind the wheel; he started the engine; and the car drove off; Orion said, sitting behind the wheel, driving down the street:
"What brought the cat here? Is it the same cat or a different one?"
Orion fell silent and continued driving, but after a moment he spoke, wondering:
"I didn't feel that the man I killed was my father. But why was Henry making Damon suspect that she had betrayed him and that I wasn't his son? But would he have actually killed me, as Orion said?"
Orion arrived at his father Damon's house. He turned off the engine, opened the car door, and got out. He walked to the door, opened it, and went inside. He closed the door.
Orion stood staring around the room, as if searching for something. Then he headed for the stairs, climbed the steps, walked down the corridor towards the kitchen, entered the room, went to the cupboard, opened the drawer, and took out a can of salmon. He opened the can, took a plate, poured the fish onto the plate, took a fork and knife, placed them on the plate, and headed towards the room's door. He left the kitchen and went back to the corridor, heading towards the stairs. He descended the stairs carrying the plate in his hands and went to the table covered with white cloths in the living room. He removed the white cloth from the table and placed it on one of the chairs. He placed the plate on the table, turned, and stared at the chair. He removed the white cloth from the chair next to the table and placed it on one of the chairs. He sat down in the chair, took the fork and knife, cut the salmon with the knife, and ate it with the fork. In the silence of the living room, the black cat appeared inside the living room. The faint sound of his small feet on the floor caught Orion's attention. He turned and looked behind him; he saw the black cat.
"How did you get out of the house yesterday?" Orion said, looking at the cat. "And how did you get back in now? The doors and windows are locked!"
The cat stared at Orion without meowing.
"You eat salmon?" Orion said. "I know fish makes you lose your hair. Do you want to be bald like my father?"
Orion took a piece of salmon with his fork and placed it on the edge of the plate. He brought the plate close to the black cat's mouth. But the black cat didn't eat the salmon. It raised its head and looked at Orion. Orion took the plate and placed it on the table. He turned to continue eating. He took a piece of salmon with his fork and brought it to his mouth, but the black cat suddenly disappeared.
Orion stood up and took the plate in his hands. When he turned around, the black cat was gone. He looked surprised for a moment, but then he went to the stairs. He went up the stairs and walked down the corridor. He went to the kitchen; entered the kitchen; put the plate in the sink; headed towards the kitchen door; left the kitchen; went to his room; entered his room; removed the white cloth cover from the chair; held the white cloth cover in his hand and went to the wardrobe; opened the wardrobe; put the cloth cover inside the wardrobe; turned and went to the chair; sat down in the chair; and seemed to be thinking, then he whispered to himself, saying, "Arion: Where is the third sheet of paper? He should have written the letters on one sheet of paper or six pages, but all together. What is the secret behind hiding the six pages? I must find the third sheet of paper quickly; there are five pages left." He leaned back in the chair and sat in silence for a while; then he got up and went to the door of the room; he left the wardrobe; walked down the corridor; headed towards another room; the door of the room was closed; he stood in front of the door of the room; reached for the handle, opened the door, and entered; to reveal the large bookcase that filled the room with books; this was the library room. Damon the Elder's library; Orion went behind the door and looked at the wood door revealed the third sheet of paper stuck to the wooden door, just like the second. Orion, who hadn't expected it, found the paper behind the library door. Orion said,
"Oh God, I didn't think I'd find it so easily!"
