HAZEL'Z POV
It's been 3 weeks since I've found out I was pregnant. Though, Nathan hasn't realised my pregnancy symptoms yet. I guess this time his ignorance is a blessing in disguise.
"This is the women's isle here, ma'am." I shopping clerk pointed out, guiding me to the women's clothes in target.
"Thank you." I smiled. Now turning my attention to the clothes before me.
I needed to buy some loose clothes, ones that'll hide my figure from being noticed by Nathan. I knew if he even questioned me about my added weight, I wouldn't be able to lie. I was horrible at it in fact.
Skimming through the clothes for half an hour, I came up with 4 loose pants and 5 large shirts. And also a few jackets that'll help as well.
As I was walking out of the women's section, my eyes caught the baby isle. And without even realising, I was picking up and looking at the clothes. It wasn't my fault though, they were all so adorable.
I then came across the small bottles and toys. Looking at them with some interest, as I imagined what it would be like to actually have a child right now in this moment.
"What do we have here?"
My body froze from his voice, not daring to turn around and face him. Instead I tried to hide my clothes and baby stuff behind my back. Before turning around to face Mr Williams with a large smile.
"Mr Williams." I greeted, maybe a little too cheery. But I couldn't let him catch on to why I was here shopping. It'll just ruin everything, especially with me and Nathan.
"You do know hiding the belongings behind your back won't change anything, right?" He smirked down at me, as a started to shift from foot to foot.
"I think standing in the baby isle has already blown your cover, Hazel." His tone dripping with amusement.
I dropped my wide smile, now scowling up at him. Shoving passed him, but he didn't get the hint as he followed behind closely.
Without thinking, I placed the baby items on a shelf nearby before making my way to the registers. But Mr Williams picked them up, as a curious look took over his expression.
"Hazel?" He called out, making me turn around with a glare. But that soon washed away, watching him hold the baby items in his hands. As if examining them.
"Are you expecting a baby?" He asked, his eyes turned to mine. I only squirmed on the spot, hoping he doesn't catch on. But that was all too late when I saw his eyes light up with realisation.
"Is it my ba-" I cut him off, placing my hand over his mouth with a deadly scowl.
"Of course it isn't." My tone went a little high pitch, so I tried to cough away the awkwardness in my tone.
"No. It's my husbands child." I continued, taking my hand of his mouth as I gripped the baby clothes out of his hands. Placing them back on the shelf, where I left them.
"But you don't have a husband." He replied with amusement, his eyes sparkling with laughter.
"Yeah, well soon he will be. Because we're engaged." I replied, leaving Mr Williams behind as I made my way to the counter.
After paying for my things, I made my way to the parking lot. Only to see Mr Williams there.
I tried to hide behind some cars, making sure he didn't notice me. I really didn't want to go through another encounter with him today. So, if hunching behind cars to stay unnoticed was the way, then so be it.
I blew out a sigh of accomplishment as I made it to my car undetected. But felt my face drain from colour when I unlocked my car, and it made a loud sound.
"Oh, there you are. Ms Hazel." Mr Williams smiled, waving his hand in the air. Making his way towards me.
I only felt a frown tug at my lips, my brows knitting together in frustration.
"What do you want now, Mr-"
"You forgot these." He held up a plastic bag that looked to be filled with the baby clothes I left behind.
"You didn't." I said out loud with shock in my tone. Staring between the bag and Mr Williams wide smile in disbelief.
"Well, if you're having a baby. You're going to need these." He handed them over, his wide smile not once leaving his face.
It started to irritate me, how he could smile so happily. It was almost as if he knew I was lying to him, as if he did this to toy with me.
"And don't worry, I'll be sure to let your fiancé take off a few days from work." My face then did a 360 as I snapped my eyes up to him. Looking up at him in shock.
"You own the Benjamin's car dealers?" I asked. Not believing he could own and be the boss of the car dealers, as well as be Damien's boss on top of that.
Just who was Mr Williams exactly?
"Well of course I do. And I'll make it my personal job that Nathan takes the next few weeks off. So, he can help you out in your early stages." He smiled down at me, but I only scoffed.
"Yeah, as if that's going to bring him home." I mumbled under my breath. Not realising I spoke my thoughts out loud, I looked up at Mr Williams with an embarrassing look. Hoping he didn't catch on, nor hear what I said.
But seeing he didn't say anything, I took that as my hint that he didn't hear me.
"Well I better get going, Ms Hazel." He spoke up after looking down at his phone.
"Though, it's always a pleasure to be in your company, I have a few things that need my attention." I only nodded my head, watching him walk back to a black SUV that was waiting for him.
He hoped into the backseat, the car roaring with life as it drove out of my sight.
