CHAPTER 4
I woke up, looking up at the ceiling. I then turned to my side and saw a young man laying there. Bits of strands of his dark curly hair fell over his closed eyes, as
he turned his head to the side. Both of his arms under the pillow as he groaned something in his sleep.
'What the hell happened last night?' I thought. Panic started to eat at me, as I got out of bed. Only now realising I looked like a naked new born baby.
"Oh, no, no, no. This can't be happening." I whispered in panic, careful to not wake the stranger in bed.
I grabbed my clothes from the floor, getting dressed and grabbing my shoes.
'I'll just put them on once I'm out of his room.' I thought, taking my phone and leaving. But then I halted.
I turned around and searched for a pen and paper.
I wrote down a quick apology for last night, trying to explain how everything was a mistake and how sorry I was for my little drunken state.
I then quickly put it on the nightstand, only then realising how late it is.
'Oh, no. It's 2 in the afternoon?!' What the hell!?
I quickly scurried away out of his room, careful not to wake him.
When I finally found the exit of his enormous house, I pulled out my phone. Only to see 4 miscalls from Nathan, and 23 miscalls from Damien.
I quickly unlocked my phone, calling Damien. And after a few beeps it answered.
"Hazel? Hazel?! Where the f**k are you?! I've been calling since early hours in the morning, I thought something happened to you!" Damien yelled over the phone.
I only sighed, and put the phone back to my ear.
"I'm sorry, really I am. But right now, can you just please come and get me." I whispered in the phone, feeling disgusted with myself over last night.
"We are not done with conversation, missy! But fine, just tell me where you are and I'll come get you." He huffed out, but I knew he was just concerned over where I was.
Which I would be grateful for, if it was any other day. But right now I just needed to get out of this place.
"Well, that's the thing. I, uh. I don't know where I am." I replied sheepishly, which caused more questions from Damien.
"Fine, just drop your location to me, and I'll send you a text when I'm close by. Okay?" I only agreed, sending him my location as I waited at a nearby café.
I felt and looked like s**t, so I wasn't surprised when I got judging looks from people as they walked by. Especially from the elderly ladies.
But just as Damien pulled up in his car, I saw the man from the bed. He was holding my note and looking around. I guess he thought I couldn't of gotten far. But when
we made eye contact, I felt everything in my stomach drop.
'He looks angry, really angry.' I thought to myself. I then closed the door behind me as told Damien to drive.
"Hey, at least tell me what happened first. Where were you last night?" Damien asked with curiosity, but also a hint of concern.
"Please, I promise I'll tell you everything, but can you just drive right now." I demanded. But Damien only rolled his eyes and huffed out a irritable sigh.
"You're going to be keeping that promise." He mumbled, before driving away fast.
I then looked at the window, watching as the man disappeared in the distance. I let out a relieved sigh.
*********
"So, spill it." Damien demanded as we were now in his living room, both holding a cup of coffee.
"To be honest, I don't remember anything." I then shrugged my shoulders low, dipping into the couch as I whispered. "Besides waking up in some guy's bed."
I looked over towards Damien. He looked shocked and taken back from my confession. But that didn't last long as a wide smile blew across his face.
"f**k yeah, Hazel! I knew you'd get some. I mean, you're to beautiful to not attract any man in that club." He praised, but I only felt more disgusted with myself.
"Damien.."
"Tell me, was he hot? Nice eyes?" He continued.
"Damien.."
"You know what, f**k that. Was he at least good in bed?" He kept going, ignoring me.
"Damien.."
"Damn, Hazel. So, did you get his number at least. For you know, round 2?" He winked at me suggestively.
"Damien!" I snapped, making him shut up.
'Finally.' I thought. letting out a sigh.
"If you haven't forgotten, you'd remember I'm engaged." I stated as I took a sip from my hot coffee.
"You're still on about that?" He replied irritated. "Look, Hazel. He cheated on you, you should just-"
"And so did I, Damien." I snapped back, anger rising in me.
"So, what? You're just going to go back to him? Act like nothing happened? Like He didn't just f**k some w***e in YOUR f*****g BED!?" Now Damien was shouting,
anger consuming his features.
I knitted my brows, as I started to get feel angry myself.
"But so did I! I cheated just like he did! So, I can't be feeling all sad when I'm just as bad as he is!" I yelled back. We were both now standing, glaring at each other.
"So, break up with him. Break off the engagement already, Hazel." He replied coldly. But I only glared at him.
"No."
He looked surprised, but more angry from my response.
"You can't be serious right now, Hazel. The man is cheating on you! And you still want to marry him!?"
I only looked away from his gaze.
"I love him, Damien. And he-"
"No he doesn't." Damien said sharply, cutting me off. I looked over at him, but this time I wasn't angry.
I felt hurt. I felt my nose tingle, my eyes start to feel watery. But I refused to cry, not right now.
I picked up my things, grabbing my bag and phone. But before I left, I looked over at Damien.
"Yes, he does." I then shut the door behind me, only now did the tears fall freely from me.
Because to be honest, I didn't know if he was right, or wrong. I just knew I needed some pain killers and a good 20 hour sleep.
So, I called Nathan to pick me up.
