ZEUS I spot them the moment I step out of the side hall. Daisy and Iris, walking just ahead, side by side, books tucked under their arms, chatting like they haven’t a single care in the world. Daisy’s laughter is sharp, shrill, and entirely too loud for this hour of the day. My temples pulse. I suppress the urge to turn back the way I came. But I don’t.
