Ivy The silence in the car on the way home was suffocating. Josh’s hand rested gently on the steering wheel, his other gripping the gearshift like it was the only thing keeping him grounded. He didn’t speak. He didn’t look at me. And I didn’t try to fill the silence. When we reached the apartment, he parked but didn’t move to get out.
