The jungle was awesome and domineering, it commanded silence from them, although not of its inhabitants, birds, monkeys and insects could be heard although judging their distance was difficult. Dave pointed out markings on some of the trees, signposts for those who had put them there. Gareg and Bob had noticed them as well and Bob was marking them on his map. Young was their official wildlife photographer and so carried his iPhone at the ready, while Dave recorded the markings on the trees and bushes. There was also the occasional stone that looked ‘out of place’. They didn’t know what any of the signs meant at first, but as the day wore on, some meanings did suggest themselves.
