Karina’s POV
I really don’t feel comfortable with Jason seeing my scars. No one has ever seen my scars. Not even Lexi. What is he going to dress them with? I didn’t know that there was anything you could do with them.
I follow Jason down the hall so he can show me to my room. It is right across the hall from his. I have the master suite and he has a smaller room with his bathroom off the living room. I offered to switch but he said no. He steps aside after opening the door to allow me to walk in.
My room is enormous. I didn’t know they could actually be this large. All though I have never seen Caroline’s room so it might have been this big. The walls in my room are soft green color, the carpet is really squishy and soft under my feet, it is a dark forest green, all of the furniture in the room is white with a soft lavender color bedding to match the curtains. I have never had anything this nice, at least not since my mom died.
“Karina are you ok?”Jason asks. I can hear the concern in his voice, I just don’t understand why it is there.
“Of course…should I not be ok?” I turn to look at him. Only he was a lot closer to me then I anticipated As I turn to look at him I can feel my breasts brush against and they are not anything to write home about, so he was pretty close.
I can’t help but blush at the contact and try to avoid looking up at his face.
Jason clears his throat and steps back. “You just looked like you were worried or thinking about something.” He raises his hand to point into the room. “That door leads to your bathroom, it’s just a standard shower-tub unit, nothing fancy. That door over there leads to your closet. It is fully stocked with everything Lexi had on the list. You will find towels in there too. There is a robe you can put on backwards when you are done showering so that I can treat your back. Do you need anything before I start cooking?”
I don’t think he actually wanted an answer. He turned to walk away almost as soon as he finished talking. He must think I am some stupid girl who can’t think for herself. I can’t blame him. Here I am swooning over this handsome man and the only reason he is around is to protect me and keep me company.
As instructed I go get ready to shower. The warm water stings my back so I turn the temperature down to almost freezing just so it wouldn't hurt.
There are so many different shampoos and conditioners in the bathroom, I would have to thank Jason for that. Having choices was so nice. I decided to wash my hair twice before moving on to the rest of my body. There were just as many body wash options and even a brand new razor. I have never felt so clean.
I was completely freezing by the time I was done in the shower but I still felt so good. I found some clean underwear and warm pajama bottoms. I wrapped my hair up in a towel to keep it off my back and because the air was drying out my skin and it hurt my back to move my arms too much. I placed the robe on as Jason instructed and walked into the living room.
I could smell so many delicious smells coming from the kitchen. I could smell everything I asked him for. He hadn't even complained or questioned my requests. I peak into the kitchen to see him setting the table and serving our plates, he had made the same thing for himself.
“This is amazing Jason. No one has ever done this for me.” I couldn't help the smile from spreading across my face.
He looks up and for just a moment he allowed himself to smile at me. I love that smile. I wish he would smile like that more.
“You’re welcome. Let's eat and then I will look at your back.” He sits at the table making it very obvious that he is going to eat and has replaced the smile with an angry scowl.
Well that was a short-lived conversation. Oh well. I'm too hungry and freezing to worry about what he thinks of me. I'm just a silly girl with her first big crush. Yay me.
The food is absolutely amazing! I can't remember the last time I had a meal this good. I tell Jason thank you again and just shrugs in response. Eventually I'll ask why he dislikes me so much, just not today. I need him to dress my wounds so I can put on a sweater. I am freezing.
Jason ate a lot faster than I did. He was sitting on the couch when I walked into the living room.
“Should I sit on the floor in front of you? Or maybe on a chair?” I ask Jason. He hadn't notice me walk into the room. Probably a good thing because I look pretty silly trying to keep this robe and walk at the same time.
He jumps up and motions for me to go to the couch.
“Come lay on your stomach. You will need to stay that way for an hour so to let the medicine work.”
I lay down on the couch and he lays the remote next to me.
“Go ahead and turn on whatever you want. I won't be paying attention to it and you'll be stuck here for a while. I need to go grab something out of my room and I'll be right back.”
I found a movie that was just starting, Happy Gilmore. I hadn't ever seen it but it was an Adam Sandler movie so I knew it would be funny. Maybe it would help Jason to relax a little.
Jason’s room was behind the couch so I hadn't seen him come back. He placed his hands on my back to move the robe completely out of his way. I had wounds all the way to my shoulders.
“Karina are you ok? Why is your skin so cold?”
“I had to take a cold shower. The warm water hurt my skin too much. I'm actually freezing so I want to put on a sweater when I'm allowed to move again.”
I said to him trying to hold back a giggle at my last remark. I'm so funny.
“Hold on. I'll be right back.” He was only gone for a moment. “Here I brought you a blanket. I will try to keep you covered the best I can. The medicine will be cold too unfortunately. I'm really sorry.”
With that he got to work. Every once in a while it hurt. I had made a good movie choice because the comedy was occupying my brain very well. By the time Jason was done there was still about 40 minutes left in the movie.
Jason came and sat on the floor in front of the couch. It was the only furniture in the living room.
I placed a hand on his shoulder and squeezed, “Thank you Jason. You don't know how much less it hurts already. I really appreciate your help.”
For the briefest moment he just looked into my eyes and I couldn't tell what he was thinking. I really wanted to know what was hidden behind those blue eyes of his. He seemed like he was always deep in thought and never really showed any emotions.
I put my hand back under my head and continue watching the movie. It was so relaxing just laying her watching tv and I had warmed up a lot because Jason covered me with a blanket when he was done.
