CHAPTER 2: En Route
The trusty vessel Adelene and her skipper Ethan Entwistle navigated their charges safe and sound down the West African coast, the pair relishing every whim the of the great Atlantic swell as a child would the undulations of a switch-back ride. Now he faced molesting from another element, one that the trawler man refused to bow to in the new battle against an atmosphere he was certain could be cut with a knife. His tropical attire of shorts and t-shirt, stuck to his body, offered little relief as he struggled to keep running sweat from blinding his eyes. The humidity on the murky, steaming hot-tub of the Congo, increasing as they left the expanse of the estuary, paid little respect to more comfortable European weather patterns usually dictated by the hands of the clock.
