Todd spun around. “I need you to do two things.”
“What’s that?”
“Call your brother and tell him our meeting is back on,” Todd said. “And before you tell me he won’t agree, tell him if he doesn’t have time then he’ll be doing time.”
“Doing time? You’re not talking about that damn watch again, are you?”
“Doing time. Surely a dame like you knows that means jail.”
Angela offered up no words to that one. She recognized that Todd was no longer joking, not with the serious tone he’d used; it had changed the vibe between them. She pulled away from him and huffed her way back into the bedroom, the curtains billowing after her. Todd followed her, closing the doors behind him.
She turned to him. “Fine. I’ll call him. But you have to do me a favor, too.”
